Not a Trinity fan, but I was in Dayton attending my daughters field hockey games that night. I listened to the game on the radio. Cincy X radio announcers were very complimentary of Trinity. I believe they said that was the most points scored on their team in over 4 years!!! How can you say they weren't competitive? Sounded like a very close game to me, untl the 4th qtr when depth factored in. Jimmyref, regarding your question why KY may not compete. Those two public schools we played at in Dayton had nicer facilities than X or T. I thought the one stadium was a college facility. WHy Ohio can do it and we can't (public school facility wise) is beyond me. That was an eye opening weekend. I have connections with folks down in Florida. They say if you want the best, you need to pay your HS players more. That's why they' re successful. They even brag about it in the papers like the Rainey kid at UF.

Yeah, that links dead, but I think I know the story you're speaking of. Winning every match since 1973 isn't bad. It's the current coaches 1st loss...and he's been there since 1980. He joked afterward saying "I hope I don't get fired".

That stadium looked empty to me. I know everyone is on one side, but can't imagine 30k on one side of stadium.

Brandon has done well this week though against the nations best. His 1st day was fantastic, he just over-powered everyone. His second day was not as strong, but he said he was tired since he hadn't played organized ball in quite a while since PRP didn't go far in the playoffs. He has had several folks say he is more impressive than they expected. When someone asked Mike Farrell of rivals who was the most supprising players at the bowl his immediate response was Newman. One thing about his play in KY this year is this. Because his team wasn't that strong, he was double teamed (sometimes triple) most of the year, and he played strong competiton. His stats were down a little this year I think. Now he is going against top competition one on one. Sam actually was recruited as a center. Why did you say you'd love to see him there? Since he's never played that position, other than long snapping, that's a bold prediction. I was suprised to see him recruited at center, so I'm anxious to see how he does. BTW, to the other poster, he did not play BBall this season, so he can add weight. He wants to add 30ish lbs before July '08. Listening to Sam and his dad talk, it sounds like he was not anxious about deciding between UK and UofL. He would have upset a lot of folks either way. I honestly thought he's go to Purdue if he didn't go to UofL. I was hoping ND would offer, but they didn't.

I spoke with someone in the booth last night who watched the vid, it was a fumble (without a facemask, don't know where that came from) but I haven't seen a lot of complaining about it, other than pre-emptive strikes from Trinity fan. It's what it is, there were 20 bads calls in every game this weekend. Some more important than others. The worst call was still not kicking the FG. Vic does have asthma, as do I, and I'll just assume you don't based on that ignorant comment.

Now you're stretching the truth a bit, aren't you? If I recall correctly, you guys had a tiny little property and started buying Cadillac and everything else trying to get bigger. Did X fan say you were trying to catch up with us? No, we all assumed it was a good business decision. Why is it all the fans on here saying Glaser is not classy...sound kinda classless in the way they are doing it. I didn't see a lot of X fans on here asking for it, but do see a lot of T fans dishing it out. Honestly, I think X needs to do what you guys did. Realize that we don't have any good coaches at the school, like Trinity did, and go out and hire a hired gun like Beatty with a big rep. I been thinking it was time for a change since about '85, but never want a coach fired who does so many other things right - other than beat Trinity in the playoffs. I'm not worked up over his comments. Those who are, I guess you also believe that Syracuse, Utah, Kentucky, WVU, UConn and USF have better QB's than Brian Brohm, because after all, they beat him fair and square. (Maybe UConn wasn't fair and square, but you get the point) Personally, I still think he's the best I've ever seen. And sometimes the best don't win, and that's life. But the best coach certainly did win last night, that much is certain.

Well it's 12:48 am and I heard the first car horn honking as my Trinity neighbor pulled in. Two more across the street, sandwiched by a few X fans. Wonder what it'll be this year. Last year it was a white "T" painted on my perfectly manicured lawn. That doesn't grow out easily in December. The year before it was X mas light in the shape of a "T" on my lawn, using my electricity no less. :fight: I guess I'll just go to bed :sleep: and see what's in store for this year when I wake up. :irked: Congrats Rocks!

KNowing the Karma trinity has over X in this game though, they would have blocked the FG and run it back. I wont second guess (although I guess I did) because I can't do what they do.

He probably didnt kick it because defense was scarce at that point and 3 points wouldn't have meant much. Glaser is usually so conservative it irks me, then he does this? ALso, can't wait to see the replay. Phillips fumbled but they said knee was down, though replay showed it wasn't down per radio guys. Next play was a TD. Oh well, I could'nt stand replay in HS, so you gotta live with that stuff I guess. NO sour grapes here, please don't say that to me. Just venting for a few more minutes, then I'm done!
