40th district coin flip
Definitely the toughest district in the region where any game can go any way (Bourbon proved that). I think any girls basketball fan would get their money's worth at GRC in two weeks.

38th District Draw
The 38th was supposed to draw today at Harrison County. Has anyone heard how the draw went?

10th Region Freshman Champs: Deming High School Lady Black Devils.
These are a great group of young ladies who play hard, together, and hate to lose. They are a lot of fun to watch. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

Officials?
Wikipedia is not considered an acceptable source since its entries are made by people who do not have to be experts, just members.

Montgomery Co 83 Mason Co 62
I guess that answers the question of whether Montgomery is still number 1 in the region.
-
Paris 37 Bourbon Co. 32
How does this game affect seeds in the district? Who is 1, 2, 3, and 4?

Bellevue 67 Deming 62 OT
I was talking to someone last night and they said the first and second half featured two different teams for the devils, defensively and offensively. I would like to see these boys come ready to play in the Class "A" Tournament. I am looking forward to some of the best basketball games the 10th region Class A has seen in a long time. Also glad to hear it is back at one site.

Predictions: St. Patrick at Bracken County 1-12-08
I think Bracken will win in a close one, by under 10. Let's go with a 48-41.

How are the 10th Region alums doing in college?
I have seen Cheryl Rutherford recently in her Kentucky Christian University Knights shirt, but I cannot remember where. How is she doing in Grayson?

Keisha Woods and Uc-Clermont
Keshia Woods was by far one of my favorite players to watch in high school, even when she was a middle schooler leading a high school team. This wonderful young lady deserves all the success in the world.

Paris 41 Clark County 38
This definitely shakes up the 10th region standing as well. GRC had been locked in the 3 spot behind Montgomery and Mason all year. Looks like Paris can lay claim to that now. There is a definite case for sending all four teams to the regional tournament since the region should represent the top 8 teams. Of course that could only happen in a perfect world.

All A Regional Favorites
I think everyone is jumping the gun too quick. Nicholas, Deming, and Bracken Co. all have talented teams. While the odds definitely go to the upper bracket, a lower bracket win is not impossible. I think this is closer than you think.

Bracken Co. VS. Deming
I think both teams are ready. Bracken has played some close games against decent competition. Their loss to Scott High, down or not, was an example. The Ledger showed a close loss for Deming last night against Lewis Co. (3 pts.) Both are ready to break over the edge. There is a lot riding on this game, not because it's important to beat each other, it's just important to get that first quality win.

Augusta Head Coach Robin Kelsch
I would have to get a Thesaurus out to find more words to say the same thing as everyone else has. Passion and loyalty are two things that are rarely used together. Most people look for the green grass on the other side. Robin puts the kids from his hometown above everything. That loyalty combined with his passion and flat-out coaching talent makes Augusta a fierce competitor every year. Truly one of, if not the best, coach in the 10th region.

Augusta 59 Bracken Co. 49
WOW!!!!! Can anyone say 3RD QUARTER? Congratulations to Augusta on the win.

Montgomery County 51 Paris 29
Paris never has been afraid to play the top dogs. I think that helps Coach Brooks mold his talent into challengers for the region year in and out. I really believe that is why they won the Class A Region last year. His girls learn what it is like to play BIG games and what it takes to win.

Montgomery County 51 Paris 29
Wow! I never expected this one to be that lopsided. Montgomery proves once again that they are number 1 until someone in the region beats them. Congrats to Montgomery.
-
St Patrick 77 Deming 72
Talking about Defense, both teams allowed over 70 points. I think it was a great intense game with some very talented shooters on both teams. There is not doubt that Owens, Mason, and Anderson know how to get open and get to the basket. Give these kids credit. Deming has some nice offensive talent of their own. I thought it was a great early season game.
-
Bourbon County 52 Deming 24
Congrats to Bourbon Co. on winning after a tough weekend. Heard that if everything would have gone right Saturday that they would have played Deming that night too in the start of a back to back. Interesting. I also believe Deming will bounce back. It sounds like they had a rough night. It's tough to replace a point guard like Keshia Woods. They will get better as the season goes.
