Come on man. Danville and Boyle County have long histories of football success. Google Titletown. Great football players come from all over this state. From Paducah to Pikeville. It's not the unexplainable mystery you seem to think it is. The schools have roughly the same number of boys, so not sure why being a suburb of Cincinnati has anything to do with it or why a team in the Bluegrass Region can't have great teams.

I would take Franklin County over Tilghman. The good news is they should be playing next week.

Jury is still out for me on Tilghman. How do you benchmark them with the schedule they've played? We will see how the next couple weeks go for Trinity and Cooper.

This year, any division Boyle is in puts everybody else down a level.

Not to get off topic, but here's a thought. Maybe CovCath struggled "big time" because Johnson Central is a good team. The Golden Eagles played Corbin and Ashland down to the wire as well.

Based on JC giving Corbin and Ashland all they wanted, this has the makings of a very good game. If both team’s establish the run, there won’t be many possessions. I’m expecting a close, low scoring game.

Looks like the computers are aligned in predicting a 42-14 Rebel win, so CovCath the heavy underdog in this one. The CovCath offensive and defensive lines will need to play their best game of the season for the Colonels to have any chance in this one.

I hear Paducah is lovely this time of year…

Credit to JC. They took it to CovCath in the first half. CovCath did not look ready to play. Good job to the coaching staff on making adjustments and to the players for persevering. Nice win. Survive and advance.

I don't think CovCath could have played much worse and are fortunate to only be down 6.

The Paintsville Herald game preview article mentioned the Johnson Central football team would be heading to Covington tonight. That gave me a chuckle thinking back to the Johnson-ville silliness from nearly 20 years ago.

In the minority, but not alone!

My take is a 6A school probably shouldn't be scheduling schools 3A and below. However, there is an art to scheduling and, as somebody pointed out, it's not like there are a lot of 6A schools in NKY to play that aren't already in your district. But you have to think D-II or D-III Cincinnati teams would be lining up to play SK. All that being said, I've always felt SK is a sleeping giant. Half the battle is community support, and they have an abundance in Independence. I am assuming they have they would have the support of the administration as well, but somebody else would have to confirm. Assuming the administration is on board, the right coach could establish a very strong program in Independence. Trinity/X/Male strong? Maybe not, but a notch below that would still make for a strong program.

I’m sure that’s accurate, but it just feels like we’ve played more often than that.
