I feel this same way towards all of the sports. You should have to earn the right to play in the postseason, not just have it handed to you. FYI, I have been involved in football as a player and as a parent and I have coached some other sports and I still say this is a mess where everyone or nearly everyone is going to the playoffs. Maybe most of the people here arguing on favor of everyone playing are those that just do not want to see their kids season to end even though they are not on good teams or they were messed over by a true playoff system when they were younger and playing, if they played.

So all of the four seeded teams, or even the moajority of them, are making money from traveling to the #1 seed to play the game. It only produces more money because there are more games. If we are doing it just to make money, lets just play from August to July each year, think of all of the money we can make.:dancingpa

They should play the regular season, but should earn the right to play in post season. Not everyone earns that chance and those that do not should not be given it.

Not seeing to many teams out there that are a #4 seed with records like that. If they want to prove themselves, that need to start it in their district, if they can not do it there, they do not deserve to play in the plyoaffs. Just because a number four seed has won state, how many times have they not one it. It still comes down to the idea that tehy did not earn the plyoff spot in the first place.

well then they should earn that chacne in the district games, not play like ..... and then decide, it is the playoffs so it is time to play for real. They can still count on those upsets in the regular season until they make it to the playoffs. They need to EARN playoff spots, not just give them to everyone in the state.

Not a fan of the points system. Just make eight conferences in each class, send the top two to the playoffs. If you do not do well in your district, you do not deserve to have a chance to play for the state championship. Every team has a chance to be in the top two in their own district and you do not have to worry about a point system.

And who is getting the money from this extra and uneeded game? It does not make enough money for both schools involved to cover the extra costs that it is putting on those two schools when you are getting blown out if you are the #4 seed. Waste of time and money.

It is an opportunity that is based on a reward system. I do agree that those that win state have earned that title, but not everyonw deserves a chance to compete. This is teaching them nothing about life other then no matter what tehy do, they will get another chance. That is not a good lesson.

Part of the development of young athletes is to prepare them for adulthood, telling them everyone wins and goes to the playoffs is not how we should be doing that. If you like that idea, why don't we just get rid of the playoffs, add four or five more games to the schedule and then give everyone a state championship trophy.

That is the KHSAA set up: only 33 teams in 2A. This year Reidland (4-6) did not make it in, but there were five other 4-6 teams, five 3-7 teams, three 2-8 teams, one 1-9 team, and one 0-10 team that all made the playoffs. Not only is that ridiculous, it is a waste of money to play the extra game. I still stand by the idea that if you can not be in the top 2 or 3 in your district, then you should not be going into the playoffs and that doesn't mean make a bunch of 2 or three team districts. Make the districts bigger and make these folks learn that they need to earn those things.

Had good years and bad years when I was in high school, we new when the last regular season game came around if it was our last or not. If we did not place high enough in our district we were done, and only two teams went to the playoffs from the district. There was no need for one last game, if you get that one, why not ask for 'one more last game'.

No sport should allow this, if you can't secure a spot based on the regular season district, you shuoldn't represent the district inthe playoffs. I just can not understand why we have to let all of these kids know that they are all winners and playoff contenders when they in fact are not. High School as well as their sports programs are suppossed to help develop young men and women into adults. Teaching them that everyone wins or that no matter how poorly you do, you will always have a second chance is not the way to do it.

Although it may not reduce the blowouts, it theoretically should make most of the games better if only the top two teams from a district are taken. If we are going to continue using 4 teams per district, make the districts bigger so not everyone makes it into the playoffs. 6-8 team districts would be much better, and then we do not get 'we made it to the playoffs' by just about every team in the state. If they can not learn to win in the regualr season, they really do not deserve a chance in the playoff in my opinion. Do away with regions and create 8 districts in each class and take the top two or four from there based on their district records.

I still say take the top two, if you want to compete in the playoffs, do better in the district games that will get you there.

They have been averaging 54.5 a game, but I do not think it is realistic that they do it all of the way to the finals, but they might get a few higher scoring games and a few lower scoring games. We can hope they can do it, but in the end all that matters is the winning in Bowling Green.

Don't know if that is a weakness, this late game score typically comes in the last quarter when the opponents starters are still playing against primarily JV guys getting some good game experience. Is that losing focus? I do not even know if that is a weakness. Fort Campbell is 202 points away from the points scored in a season (Highlands has it right now with 801, from 97 I beleive but could be wrong with that). If they keep playing like they are and everything goes good, they will come closet to breaking that records.

Trigg has been a thorn in the Falcons side for quite some years now and I do not underestimate them. At the same time, I do not think that they are in the same league as FC and the Falcons will win 42-14, yes I think that trigg can be the THIRD team to score twice on FC this year.

Is it the playoff format where just about every team in the state goes to the playoff? Do we need to change it to take only the top 2 teams from each district? Or is it a result of the six class system? Do we need to change it back to a 4 four class system, or maybe a 5 class and see how that weorks out?

Caldwell County scored late in the fourth to get on the board, but the game was dominated by the Falcons.

Fort Campbell only had three seniors a few years ago, but real strong junior and sophomore classes. Look what they did for the next two years. Getting those underclassmen experience can end up making a big difference in a year or two. Campbell County could be a Fort Campbell in the making.

I think the video makes a pretty good statement of fact. If he denied what really happened, he knew, now he just needsw to admit it.

After seeing the video, I would have to say both the coach and the player flat out lied. There was no fumble and there is no way I can be convinced that this was not a designed play the way it was ran.
