Redman is a sly ol devil. :eyeonyou:

That is one way of saying it.......there are others.

That play was no happenstance - IMVHO.

Well planned and executed. And, when confronted - everybody (including the player involved) all claim the ball was dropped or fumbled then picked back up - when that is clearly refuted on film. Nice thing to teach a youngster.

Win at any cost ???? :puke:

1. Run an Illegal Play.

2. "Claim to have not seen it - and know nothing about it."

3. Attribute it to just another 'vagary or mystery of the series".

4. "Lie about it" --- claim the ball hit the ground first.

5. Have the player involved - repeat the same untruth.

A center sneak. Nice. Funny part is that I have had to penalize and stop little league teams from doing it, now we see a HS team gets away with it. Classic.

If the end moves down to center for the play, then what rule makes it illegal?

(Not questioning whether or not it's illegal...just want to know which rule applies here.)

That's what I've been thinking.

The number that player is wearing, has to be 50s, 60s or 70s # to play on the interior line. We had a game earlier in the year where our tight end (#80something) had to switch #s in the middle of the game when he was moved to the interior line. This sounds like a bad scenario all the way around but the refs should have caught the # situation before the play even started.

Regardless of who is the center, he must complete a legal snap or it is a snap infraction. If the center is the last man on his side of the line of scrimmage and he is wearing an eligible number (any number except 50-79), then he is eligible to catch a pass, but as the center he must complete a legal snap.

I will try to dig out my rulebook and find it
