Teams that DID NOT, make the play-offs. Whats missing and whats the plan?

Lets give the folks not in season anymore something to keep the season going for them!

For one of the teams that I cheer for that didn't make the playoffs (North Laurel), I love what I am seeing on the direction of the team. They had their highest number of wins since 2004, gave up 10 fewer points than the previous 3 seasons avg opponents ppg (from 32 to 22), first non losing season since 2004, and competed in every district game except 1/2 of the Whitley game. All the pieces are falling into place for next year to be even better. With the district really stepping up from top to bottom this year, the fact that they were in the hunt all year is a HUGE improvement. A full off season with this coaching staff will do wonders for the program. In Larkey's first year, they accomplished things they haven't accomplished in several years. Put this team in this district just a few years ago, and they are not only in the playoffs, but competing for a district title.

I have watched NL football since 1999, and love the direction that they are headed. They took some major steps and I believe will see the fruits of their labors in 2010.

Campbell County, whats going on their. I know the last couple years 07 & 08 (not this one) they have had a good freshmen team. Can we look for they to return to the playoffs next year??

Franklin County...I think they are working on it there already. Experience may have been a factor. But they have some really good kids, athletes that will make that program shine again.

I think Campbell County was a young team playing a lot of underclassmen. Their QB is a junior so he will be back. But as Dixie fans will tell you, you shouldn't get your hopes too high just because you have a lot of starters returning. So what do you think, Camel fans?

I think Campbell county has taken some good steps in the last few years with the CCYFL to get more kids in the system learning and getting playing time. I hope they get back to a more balanced attack offensively next season because throwing the ball every down isn't the answer IMO, especially on a natural surface. I've also seen a few things from the stands that would have never happened in my day there like throwing helmets. I know Coach Styer is a good coach but I would like to see more toughness and discipline in the coming years. You've modeled your youth league after the FTJFLY now model your offseason weights and conditioning after the team from Ft. Thomas too. Just one fans thoughts.

How many seniors started for the Camels this year?

I would say 6 or 7 but I don't know for sure. I think they had about 15 seniors on thier roster all together and a couple were lost to injury throughout the season.

Campbell County had a total of 13 seniors (had 15 at the beginning of the year but 2 quit). 4 out of the 13 seniors were lost for the year: 1 was last year that would have started due to a career ending knee surgery, 2 were lost in the same game (I think the 4th game into the season) for the year and one was lost half way through the season as well. Out of the 9 remaining seniors only 4 were starters the whole year.

Campbell County at one point had 2 seniors (running back & center), 8 juniors and 1 sophomore (lineman) on the field for offense. I see Campbell County having a much more balanced offense next year and will have alot more experience. The junior and sophomore class are very talented.

Fort Campbell only had three seniors a few years ago, but real strong junior and sophomore classes. Look what they did for the next two years. Getting those underclassmen experience can end up making a big difference in a year or two.

Campbell County could be a Fort Campbell in the making.

Does anybody know what Dayton has coming back who going to be QB next year. Is there any hope for them next year?

Dayton's QB next year was rumored to be big man 6'4 Jordan Smith, with an experienced line of all senoirs he should feel very comfortable in the pocket for pass game. The returning Junoirs will be Pompillio, Thomas Rogg, and Timmy Smith. All 3 should put up numbers for Dayton in the 10/11 season.
