Look for Jordan Gilbert of Mason Co. to have good year. Played mostly shooting guard last year while Middleton played the point. Good handles, quick and can shoot the 3. He will be back to his natural position next year.

Watched a few of Mason County games this year. Until they get leadership, and start playing together, they will not reach their full potential. So many shots that get forced from experienced players with shooters spotted up. I would rather have Hamm and Gilbert shooting the three than trying to force up an acrobatic shot. It may be little bit more understanding if they were a good free throw shooting team. A little less I and a little more we, and I think they could be very good.

Watched that foul call on news. How terrible of a call to end a game.

I believe Pawsat will be out until after the Lexington Catholic game.

Field position will determine this game. Mason may want to put the fly kicks in their pocket for this week. Cannot give Russell the ball on the 35 or 40 yard line and give them a 60 or 65 yard field.

Congrats to the camels. #43 was an excitement to watch, the music was great, and the facility was nice. Too bad the P.A. announcer had to ruin the whole game. I think he really liked to hear himself talk.

Those kids have been coached well since they were little. Seen them in some aau tournaments growing up. Gilberts dad was their coach and he has done a great job of developing them.

I was very impressed with the jv game. Pawsat, Gilbert and Setty are players. I was impressed with Gilberts ball hadling and passing. He took # 4 off the dribble numerous times and found an open man. I believe that same player was #11 in the varsity game. Pawsat is a warrior and Setty can shoot it and moves well without the ball. These 3 will be fun to watch the next 3 years. Looks like future is going to be strong.

No logic needed, the proof is there. So I guess Lex. Cath is as good as the teams they played in Hawaii.

Not once did I say anything about players. I thought they played hard from tip to final buzzer. First half Mason was hitting the 3. What happend in the 2nd half when the 3 wasn't falling. Darius got doubled and tripled team. It is alot easier playing teams like they did in Hawaii that probably does not have a scouting report on them like every team in the state does here.

Choke, choke, choke. Looked liked regional finals of last year. Can Mason win a close game when the pressure is on? Offensively, nothing but one on one. I can't believe more teams don't play them zone. Extend it out, take away the 3 and they are beat. Mason was winning the rebound margin at halftime, anyone know what 2nd half rebounding stats were?

If I recall, Mason hit two free throws with 5 or 6 seconds to go to tie the score. Scott Co. threw the ball the length of the court and was tipped out of bounds by Mason. Scott won on an out of bounds play under their own basket. That was the only game I saw Mason frosh play last year and remember it well.

I believe this is a tournament put on by Nike. Mason Co. is one of a handfull of high school teams in the nation that Nike is sponsoring. Im not 100% certain, but believe Nike may be covering hotel expenses for players and coaches.

This was a tough game for Mason frosh to open the season with. Lex Cath frosh are pretty good and have been playing together for a while. The combination of a new head coach and little practice time for Gilbert and Pawsat contributed alot to this loss. Coach Butler will be fine and so will the team after a few weeks together. I believe Coach Gilbert is the assistant and just started helping the day of the game. Interesting to see if Gilbert plays freshman ball all year, he looked like he was at a different level than the rest.

Actually, Mason has 3 kickers that have contributed in every game one way or another. I don't think a freshman missing a 41 yard field goal 2 yards short to win the game gives logic to say they don't have a kicker.
