Who knows what the reason for her resignation, but she has devoted many years to NKY girls basketball (at Boone County as well as at Notre Dame). She leaves the same way she coached, with class. She will be missed in the NKY basketball community and especially at Notre Dame. Good Luck to her and her family in the future!

The coaches can't be too familiar with NKY girls soccer if they have Highlands ahead of St. Henry and Notre Dame. Highlands graduated their entire starting lineup except one player. St. Henry and Notre Dame return virtually every starter. These polls are sometimes comical. Time will tell :popcorn:.

NDA will be the favorite in the 9th region, but St. Henry will definitely be right there with them because Coach Kaiser is the top coach in the region and will get the the most out of her team. That never seems to be the case at NDA.

Having seen them both play, Sandfoss looked a little stronger than the HHS point guard. Just the speed difference seperates the players. In no way is this a dig on the Highlands point guard, she is a fine player!

Whoever takes over at Highlands will have a couple of rebuilding years in front of them. The program will really miss this year's senior class.

I believe the financing is a "work in progress".

The U15 Girls form Northern Kentucky who made the trip last year (as 14's) also advanced to the final four again.

Congrats to all the teams that advanced to the Ky. State Cup semi-finals to be played in Lexington next weekend. Some of the top talent in the state will be on display at Masterson Station on Saturday and Sunday!

Hopefully, the rain will stay away for a couple of weeks. I believe their 2009 home games are scheduled for the new field. This year's team should have the talent to proudly defend their "home" turf!

NDA will have a new home turf field by July 15th (weather permitting)

Congrats to Megan Berberich (Louisville), Torrie Lange (Western Kentucky) and Jesse Russo (Lincoln Memorial). All three Notre Dame Academy juniors will continue their soccer careers beyond high school!! Not only strong soccer players, all three are also good kids from good families. :dancingpa

Conner has a very strong freshman class. They just need court time.

Play their big girls!!!! 6'1 and 6'4 post players. They need to play in order to develop!!!

Bradley was the key to Boone's success. They will miss her leadership and her ability to take over a game (as she did in the regionals).

NDA had a very favorable draw in the 2007 State Tournament. They did not have to face a Louisville team until the finals. The players NDA has year in and year out would really have to struggle to lose to any other team outside of Louisville. I don't know how much credit the coaching staff deserves for the recent success of the program. There is alot of talented players there.

I'm suprised that the roles are not reversed. Long as head coach and Lanham as assistant, but I'm sure NDA has their reasons.

One has to believe that all involved (AD, Administration and the coaches of NDA) have the best interest of the girls and the future of the program at heart when making decisions of this nature. Maybe when details are released this will make more sense to everyone. In the meantime, I find it interesting (and sort of sad) to see comments like "classless", "bush league", "unprofessional", "insane", etc. when so few true facts are available. It feels a little harsh towards NDA. We can only hope that the right things are being done for the right reasons.

Panda is correct. While alot of kids these days are getting into trouble every weekend, AAU basketball, club soccer and club volleyball have a big impact on how these athletes live their lives. Not only do they get the opportunity to spend a ton of quality time with their parents, they have a limited amount of "down" time to get into trouble. I have never viewed all the time and money put into high level athletics as an "expense". To me, its giving your child the opportunity to play at the highest level they choose to play. Attending these games over the years is no different than playing golf or going fishing every weekend. It's an enjoyable experience. And for the record, a "full ride" to a D1 school (including food, books, housing and tuition) is worth a lot more money than anyone is going to spend on AAU or club teams.

I could not have put it any better. Players (especially girls , since there is limited professional opportunities) should attend the school that is the best ALL AROUND fit for them. The level of the program (D1, D2, etc.) should only be a fraction of the equation.

Agreed. The loss of the five seniors will be hard to overcome. Each one brought something special to NDA basketball (on and off the court).

NDA will be young, but I wouldn't count them out. The freshman point guard played a ton of varsity minutes (including starting close to 20 games because of injuries) this season and that will help the transition for the players coming up from JV and freshmen. They will be competitive in the 9th region.

I agree 100%. But, don't the coaches in Louisville promote this environment?

The high profile Louisville volleyball schools are usually coached by (or assisted by) top level club coaches. As far as I know, there is not a high school volleyball coach in Northern Kentucky that fits that description.
