Heard a rumor they were dropping out of district play for a few years. Wouldn't be a bad idea Corbin and Bell are going to be very tough games for MC for a while.

3 games in four days is nothing in high schools. Teams do it all the time at that level. You have to win three games in basically 24 hours to win a state title. Corbin and Williamsburg are huge rivals too, so it's disingenuous to act like Corbin will play Clay much harder than they did Williamsburg. At the end of the day Clay was just a tad overrated this year and played to not to lose every game until they did.

They beat South Laurel and Corbin back to back in the district and frankly South Laurel was better than Corbin, plus they beat Clay pretty convincingly. Williamsburg went 4-0 against Corbin this year. Clay made one run the entire game where they out did Williamsburg. Spot in the bracket had absolutely nothing to do with it. Not to mention just last week Barbourville beat Knox Central. Just because Corbin and Knox Central are the "name brands" of the 13th region doesn't mean they were better this year.

Farmer is Clay's biggest asset and biggest liability all wrapped up into one. He can flat shoot it, but frankly did not hustle tonight.

No arena does a good job of separating the fans just in its natural lay out.

Pikeville and Hazard aren't in Williamsburg's district. Just their region.

They don't play either of them in the regular season.... Odd district, Odd year. As the 1 seed they would host all games in the region.

Yes. but Round 2 and 3 would be in Williamsburg next year, which is a slight edge, especially over Pikeville. The bus ride from Pikeville to Williamsburg is a long haul on a Friday afternoon.

My understanding is district next year will be Burg, Lynn Camp, Pineville and Harlan. They are opposite Hazard's district but not sure what teams are in it now.

If they win the district and make region finals it will be a good year. They can do that and then se, however that should be the minimum for a successful season.

Not much in the way of starters, but still a big senior class for a single A school next year. A class that has the benefit of an extra season in practice from post season runs, and a class that played tons of snaps last season.

It would be wise to not overlook Williamsburg. They will be rough out the gate, but by playoff time they will be competing with the best.

Well Whitley definitely didn't get past Williamsburg.

Williamsburg loses a lot. That said they have a lot of juniors and the middle school program has never been in better shape. I'm not sure they will be as good as they were the last couple of years next year, but they will be a factor. More interesting thing for them now is they will likely have to play some combination of Pikeville/Hazard at home and/or on the road every year to win the region.

If Mayfield gets in the endzone right here Williamsburg is gonna have a tough road to win this game.

Newport and Wayne were suppose to be the bug no district games, they did play a 5a team from Knoxville but I have no idea how those guys did after burg game to open the year. Wayne County was a let down, South Laurel was a joke especially for a big school, Pineville was an ok east ky 1a team, pike Central was probably a tad better than their record.

Newport, Raceland, and Hazard were all decent teams Burg played. I think most expected Wayne to be better than they were.

I hope Mayfield fans have zero respect for Williamsburg so they won't get any from me. This isn't last year and Griffith's absence last year was a much bigger deal than Mayfield realizes.

I'm sure coaches will be serious it's the voices of everyone around them I think will distract them.

The question you should ask is how much impact can a player that was too hurt to play last year have as well as a transfer and the answer is a lot!
