With Williamsburg's senior class gone and Pikeville and Hazard in the same district, who comes from the East in next year's playoff? Raceland loses a lot of skilled guys and a QB, Pikeville now has competition within their district, and Williamsburg graduating their best senior class in history. Who is it?

I thought I heard Williamsburg had 14 Juniors to go with this years 15 seniors.

Leaning towards Raceland... Paintsville also should be strong but they need more depth.

Williamsburg knows what it takes but they lose some absolute studs. Hazard will have a quality QB but Brandon Jones is a massive hit.

Pikeville should be in the mix for sure as they return Pugh and 4 of their Top 6 Linemen... but losing Estep, Charles, Maynard, and their two top linemen will be hard to overcome.

Just throwing it out as a talking point...

1. Raceland

2. Paintsville

3. Pikeville

4. Williamsburg

5. Hazard

6. Fairview

7. Paris

We (raceland) lose 3 DB's and 1 lineman on defense. We lose QB, C and 2 WR. Return 6 of the front 7 on a defense that quite frankly, was one of our better defenses in quite some time. With depth at RB and capable backups at receiver, I just don't see us missing a beat for a few years. Our defensive front had 5 sophomores last year only 1 Junior.

Great point. I also was going to touch on that. Not to mention, Black will probably take reigns of the offense as QB. He will be a sophomore next year and is getting coached very well. He is a dual threat quarterback, which Raceland is known for having. He could be a dangerous threat the next three years for teams.

I think Aaron Black has the potential to be a special QB at Raceland.

I really want to hear some Williamsburg and Pikeville fans on this. Im not sure what they are returning, other than what ATL said.

Williamsburg loses a lot. That said they have a lot of juniors and the middle school program has never been in better shape. I'm not sure they will be as good as they were the last couple of years next year, but they will be a factor. More interesting thing for them now is they will likely have to play some combination of Pikeville/Hazard at home and/or on the road every year to win the region.

I know nothing about any of these teams, but looking at it historically I would pick Hazard. They have a program that puts top notch teams on the field year after year. They are the most successful team historically that will be on the east side of the bracket.

I don't know, if we are talking "Historically" I think Pikeville and Paintsvile may top Hazard.

But, Hazard has a historically good program.

True, if you go back far enough. If we stick to the 6 class era, Hazard has been the most successful program.

I am not sure on who all that they return but Paintsville will be a legit threat I believe. The Tigers weren't on the list. Also, the school located in Westwood, (near Ashland) had some good kids, talent. I don't know who is returning from the Eagles or who may be coming up, in.

As for my Raceland Rams .......I promise that they will show up for the games, lace em' up and see what happens. ;)
