  1. Other than CCH, what games outcomes felt like a foregone conclusion before the game was even played? None that I can think of! Every team in the 9th Region has had that feeling this year when playing CCH.
  2. RO- you are correct. The playing floor is called "George Schneider Court". The gym is called "The Monsignor Finn Activity Center"!
  3. Luke Arlinghaus with 39 and Brady Gabbard with 34 in this one. Luke also had 33 yesterday.
  4. It's been that way for the last 5 games or so. Leading scorer on the team for over half of the season to this. If injured, I don't think they would bother giving him a minute per game. Sounds like he may be in the coach's doghouse. Not sure, but would love to know what's going on there.
  5. HC was up 17 late in the 3rd quarter and almost let it get away!
  6. Listening to the 859 Broadcast during the game, the question was asked when was the last time HC made it to the regionals. The discussion seemed to infer that it had been a while. Actually, HC has been to the regional 4 of the last 6 years. They beat Beechwood in '16 and '17, Holmes in '18, and now Beechwood again in '21.
  7. Dixie played really well tonight! Looked like the 4 games in 5 days caught up with the Indians. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.
  8. Bruce Kozerski is actually 1-0 in state title games. It's reversed on the chart.
  9. Tomorrow night the Holy Cross Indians girls will play at Conner, the states number one team. The boys will travel to Scott Co. to play the states number one boys team. Does anyone remember this ever occuring where both the boys and girls played the number one team in the state on the same day?
  10. HC should have never scheduled this all important district seed game immediately following the All A tournament. Beechwood made the same mistake last year, and lost to a Holmes team they should have beaten. Hopefully, neither team will make this mistake again in the future.
  11. Dan Rassche, Joey Meier, Bob Strorer, Ken Vogelpohl, Skip Redmond, Bob List, Cecil Coker, Mike Deitz, Bob Fischer, Mike LaFever and Tom Schmidt come to mind. Interestingly enough, two stars of the '72 champs, who were undefeated in the 9th Region, were non factors as freshmen. Tom Schmidt was the last man on the freshman team and Dave Muck went to CCH his freshman year.
  12. The Holy Cross community and all of northern Kentucky have lost a legend and icon tonight. Clay Eifert lost his 8 year battle with cancer, after fighting it with all the determination and grit he displayed on the court, and in life. Please keep Clay in your prayers.
  13. 1969 was Holy Cross coached by Ralph Kemphaus and Bill Frey
  14. Have stayed there for years. Reasonable price, no frills, but pretty clean and they have breakfast in the morning. They have a fridge, bed , TV for NCAA games and free wireless internet. What more do you need? Also have figured out "back" ways from this motel to Rupp to avoid traffic before and after games.
