I was kidding about Rex getting mad. I've known Rex for too long (we probably all have) to think that he'd take anything on this board seriously. Especially anything written by Shooterx3 or myself.

 

As for the anonymity of this board, the "Frances Bavier" nom de plume was probably the worst kept secret in all of BGP. As of a month ago, my identity isn't even a secret.

 

Oddly, I think the majority of the posters from the 16th Region are pretty open about their identities. C'est la vie.

I think shooterx3 makes a very good point. McDavid is 1, 2 or 3 being asked to guard the opponents 5 man. I think the fact that he even has a prayer speaks volumes for his ability but Black is a post monster. He may not have scored 43 but he did have 18 points and 19 rebounds against a big team in Rose Hill.

 

I think the most understated factor in this game is Fairview's ability to shot free throws. Outside of Bayless they are excellent free throw shooters and their guards are very good with the ball. If they have the lead late it is curtains so Ashland has to get off to a good start.

You can't really press Fairview, they handle it too well. Ashland will have to rotate well on defense and get out on the shooters to avoid getting 3's rained on them. I will reiterate that Matt Thomas will play a deciding factor IMO. Fairview had a tough time with Chad Jackson from RH getting to the basket. If Matt can do the same thing, Fairview will have some problems. As far as the post is concerned, Miller would have been a major factor if for defense and rebounding alone. As it stands, the Cats better box out and keep them off the boards or they'll get one look per trip.
