I think Max is the odds on favorite to play QB. While probably not his ideal position, it may be the best move for the team. In that case, does Erdman play the TB spot? Should he make the move, does Stringer get any carries? Never seen him play, but is BW that much better than SK? Say that as many of the SK posters on here mention him as a candidate for TB rotation in 2012, even as a freshman? That's at a D6 school.

 

If Max is the QB, then I have to believe Erdman is the TB and is spelled by Mitch Thomas. Thomas was dominating in JV games, rushed for over 600 yards in varsity action and averaged about 10 yards per carry in varsity games. Those numbers are skewed a little because he was getting carries in the second half of blowouts, but on the other hand he was very often going against the other teams' first team players for a decent number of those carries.

Funny thing is, not only are #1 and #6 SK but #2 was in the SK system at a younger age. He played for SK in the NKYFL.

Boy, they'd have to play SK all 15 games to get those kinds of statistics.

IMO Max and Gage get the lions share of the carries, with Thomas getting a handful every game. BW had a dynamite tailback on their freshmen team last year, think his last name is Schmidt, he may get an opportunity for some carries in single A games. If history is followed, Stringer will play freshmen ball and possibly get a carry or two in late season blowout wins, kind of the same way Vocke was exposed to the system.

Stringer is good, but probably not good enough to get varsity carries as a freshman, regardless of where he goes. I'm not sure if he even plays football all four years of high school...he is a next level baseball player player...why risk the big bucks bucks you can get out of high school if you get drafted, which I can almost guarantee he will.

Cmon man, we are projecting an 8th grader to get drafted? If I didn't know his dad, I may accuse you of being him with statements like that.

Probably a little over 6 ft, no clue on weight. Pretty ripped up kid, do know that. Work with his dad, who us about 6 5, so who knows where he will end up.

Stringer is much better at baseball than football in my opinion. Don't get me wrong he is a good football player but nothing like he is in baseball..JMO

I know his dad too...and him quite well. And I played D1 baseball. And have been around top level baseball my whole life. And he is the best pure hitter I've ever seen. He's a little raw defensively, but he's a plus bat, arm, power, and speed. And he is already over 6 ft and still growing. When you have all that going, you get drafted. I'd bet next weeks paycheck on it. Either way, he's only going to be a freshman, so he shouldn't even be in the conversation about top running backs in NKY.

Top rushers in 2012 could be construed as a very generic statement imo. At schools that play 15 game seasons I would say a kid is tops even if he rushes for only 800 yds.

Ill bet if you ask any kid in the state of KY if they would trade a 1000 yd season for a State Championship they would in a heart beat.

So to answer your question above who cares? and does it really matter? Its all about winning as a program at Highlands. But then again, you wouldnt know this since you dont follow Highlands.

I know the odds ( I was good enough to play D1, not good enough to be drafted), that's why I'm only betting one paycheck. And it is hard to project, and a lot can change between now and 2016. What I do know is he won't be one of the top RB's next year.
