Seeing the names of schools long ago consolidated (some not) is very neat. I've always wondered why Ky has county high schools and other immediate states do not. In the Encyclopedia of Northern Ky (included owen, bracken, grant, mason, and robertson) it stated there was a state mandate for all counties to have a school for those kids to go to. This is a big reason for consolidation and a lot of unknown school names on the list.

Obviously have to add Jefferson and Fayette counties, who's schools have won many state titles, at least more than I can list.

 

Didn't see Clay County on the list, have to mention them.

 

Also have to add Boyd County to the list as Ashland has won a title or two.

 

Add Hardin County as well, as E-Town has won it. Not sure about North Hardin.

 

Marion County may have been listed, if not they won it in 93.

 

Guessing we can add Daviess County (Owensboro and/or Apollo)?

I count at least 36 Kentucky counties who have state champions. The one I could not find was Brewers in 1948? This count is based on my research being correct. Please correct as you see fit.
