Borderline ridiculous statement. Take the best player off any team and see what you have left.

Turnovers...hhs...thats all i hear.

What is the definition of insanity?? Keep doin same and expect different results? The beatings will continue...with same style same players.

There is a pretty good little point guard sophomore for HHS watching the beatings as well..nice handle and set up specialist ...high IQ always makin teammattes better for years...sets others up....IE point guard.

and he can bury open shots... AND yup, 3 years of eligibility....When do u turn the page on juniors and seniors that when they were Frosh players, could not get off the Freshman bench?

Program? Or extra currucular for upper classman?

There is plenty of talent and positiion players at HHS...plenty.

The Record will speak for itself....

The back up PG is a lot like the back up QB in football in that when things are going well nobody knows their name. However, when things are going poorly they are the most popular kid at the dance.

I haven't seen HHS this year but to give it my best coachspeak is the back up PG outperforming the upperclassmen in practice on a daily basis? Is he making the same mistakes in practice that the upperclassmen are making in games?

I spoke to someone who watched the and whose opinion I trust. He says PT should have gotten more touches. He also said that CCH made that very difficult with their perimeter pressure which is the BEST way to shut down an inside guy.

Can anyone tell me how many free throws HHS missed? I think the CCH students at half would have shot a better percentage from half court given the same number of chances. Birds miss the front end of a 1 and 1 or both on 2 and CCH gets the rebound and scores by pushing it up the floor. HHS does not have a chance to slow them down if they don't make the free throws. Again, hats off to the Colonels.

If HHS had an advantage to exploit, it was their front court. Points, or at least an early arrival into the bonus could have resulted. Of course, that requires making your free throws.

PT, and True needed more touches to counter a back court like CCH. Not sure if offense is up to that style however. Touches that PT got were often passed back out to perimeter. Whenever he was fortunate enough to escape a double team, he should have taken the shot, imho. Fredricks is unreal. Pure shooter.

Don't think your AD cares much about "other" sports, honestly thinks he just lets them play out. Remember when the Birds were always a tough out in basketball. Used to play a better schedule as well.

We have a winner!! I have been saying it for a year now and the HHS fans thin skin begins to show. I know they want to keep Dale happy but no way he should be the AD. The other sports are suffering because the same attention is not put on the other sports as given to football. I know they spend the money on the other sports but if you dont recruit the top coaches then the programs fall back. CCH went out and got a new BB and soccer coach when their teams were already good but not top tier. So HHS will continue to win state championships in football and the apathy for the rest of the programs will grow.

I understand your point, but I maintain that Coach Flynn for the boys and Coach Richey for the girls are both high level coaches. I don't think it is the coaching. I think it is now just a given that Highlands is a football school and that is where the emphasis is placed. You place your gold where your passion lies, and for Fort Thomas that is football. Nothing wrong with that unless your kid excels at a different sport and is a Bluebird.

Are you done ? Seriously

Honestly I am... promise, but you must first know that you just made me spit out my beverage.

No doubt the coaching staff at HHS are fabulously qualified, wonderful people. Although next to Dale in this great city, it will take one Word Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter Violation social politican to win over the hearts and minds of the student-athletes (& community) that trickle into any other sports playing field besides David Cecil Memorial Stadium. Another aspect unique to HHS "hoops program" is that three JV starters from last years basketball team opted OUT for this year - oops - can't get those minutes and experience back....certainly a different beast managing & trying to build this "program" from year to year. And I should never point-out student athletes as better options over another, my apologies. My simple observation and two cents (in this social media, wonderfully connected world) is if varsity basketball teams are committing 30 plus turnovers, while players & athletes are subbing in and out of games four and five times a quarter, the games & flow begin to look like an exercise in DODGEBALL. And is any player really comfortable when playing DODGEBALL? Do the HHS players look comfortable? I don't think they do. What athlete is comfortable subbing in and out constantly? IMO, Coaches have one vital role - to place young players in a position to be succesful - and most importantly - work to make them very, very comfortable. Then, they can go do their thing: be athletes.

What in the world did you post to get "Word Filter Violation."

Go easy on the salt Bro. LOL

How about Tobler's layup that had some Nasty English on it. The ball banked in from the top right corner of the backboard.

Didnt look like hardly any of Ruthsatz shots were contested. You cant let a player of that caliber get off so many open looks.

NickR does what many kids simply never work on - the pull up J.

Keeping him from getting shots is easier said than done due to his handle, hesitation move, and head fakes. His offensive game is fun to watch.

Nice to see some of the Highlands highlights on there as well. Too bad there werent enough in the 2nd half. Hard to believe the Birds jumped out ahead 9-2 on the Colonels and then ended up being behind by 1pt after the 1st qtr.
