What Are Your Peculiarities?

Featured Replies

No matter the weather, I will never sleep in anything other than gym shorts. Can't remember the last time I wore a shirt or long pants to bed.

I have to lock my car doors multiple times with the key "faub" every time I leave it. Doesn't matter if I have it parked in my parents' garage. I lock it at least twice before going inside.

I do the same with my car. Even lock it twice again before I head upstairs for the night.

I swing a baseball bat left handed, but swing a golf club right handed (seldom golf, though).

Prefer a bath to a shower, especially in the winter. And love reading while taking said bath.

I love Christmas shopping when it is incredibly busy & congested.

I give nicknames to people that I really like.

People who know me well are familiar with my financial frugality. I once opened a Macy's credit card account at the Florence Mall in order to save 20% or 25% on a purchase. I then went to Customer service, paid the bill & then used their phone to close my account.

Three times in the last five years I've lost fifty pounds only to gain it back.

I'm afraid of flying. Never been on a plane. Never plan to.

I don't like vacations away from home. I'm a homebody.

When something or someone really entertains me (an author, a band/singer, a movie, a TV show, etc) I want to know everything about it or them. Like with A Christmas Story, I know more about that film than just about anyone else. Same with musical preferences, films, shows, etc.

As Clizzy said, I've never seen any Star Wars or Star Trek...and have no desire to see them.

This probably isn't that peculiar, but I'm constantly tapping my pockets to check for keys, wallet, and phone.

I do the same. And like Hangman, I count (although silently ), 1-2-3. Check left pocket for phone, right for keys, back for wallet.

I am the same way with skittles. I always save the purple and red as my last two colors and will eat the least amount of the purple or reds first.

Bubble bath? Wine? Candles?

Seriously.

One of mine is that I have to finish reading a book, watching a movie, TV series, etc. to the end, even if it's horrible. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part I have to slog through these things to the end no matter how bad or time wasting they are.

That's a good one. I'm right there with you.

Same exact way... I know way too much about my favorite shows, movies, bands, etc.

I also go through cycles where I will listen to pretty much only one band for a month or so, and then another band the next month or so, and on down the line. I go long enough without listening to some bands as a result that when I hear them again I basically completely re-discover how much I like them. It's fun.

Occasionally bubble bath. No way on the wine & candles though.

Another one, when I pay a tab at a bar or resturaunt I put the credit card in my wallet, then sign the receipt. Then as I'm walking out, I have to take my wallet out of my pocket and verify that all my cards (even the ones I didn't use) are there.

Also when in big crowds (sporting events, etc.) I'm constantly playing a game of "grab butt" with myself checking to make sure my wallet hasn't been swiped.

I do this all the time. Recent examples are Dexter, Hung, and Entourage.

If I'm standing up at a concert and I've purchased a tee shirt or something, I spend most of the show looking back to make sure it's still on my seat where I'd left it.

I now try to buy those things after the show.

I honestly had to buy a smaller wallet and carry it in my front pocket with my keys so it wouldn't look like I was groping myself all the time.

Best way to sleep!!

On my way out the door I always check do the saying from Austin Powers. Spectacles, testicles, wallet, and watch. Make sure I have everything with me. Never watched Star Wars either.

I chew the heck out of my fingernails and even bite the skin.

I eat things really weird. Like when I eat pizza, I pull the toppings off first, then the cheese, then I eat the crust and the bread. And I NEED some sort of dipping sauce. I usually pull my sandwiches apart and eat everything separately too.

The bolded is awesome. That and Hangman's Big 4 count out loud are my favorites so far.
