What Are Your Peculiarities?

Featured Replies

I know we have some odd people on BGP so there has to be an interesting list of peculiarities in the group.

A few of mine:

I occasionally stand on one foot while at the toilet.

I sleep best lying on my left side. However, I must always start out on my right side. Not sure why.

I love Pepsi but cannot drink it directly out of a can. I need ice.

I've never seen Star Wars or Star Trek.

I've never tasted coffee and I'm not Mormon.

Have at it.

We must be brothers. I'm the same exact way. My wife doesn't understand.

I also have to be the first one in bed when going to sleep. If my wife gets in first, I might as well sleep on the couch... I will not get comfortable.

I've been told I'm a very peculiar person with some of my habits. I'll think of some and get back to this.

I have to sleep on the right side of the bed.

I only like Bud Light out of a can or draft. Never out of a bottle.

When I smoked I would hold cigarettes in my right hand and non cigarettes in my left hand.

If I am not at a basketball game for the warmups I get upset.

I have to watch Family Guy on the Cartoon Network before I go to sleep everyman though I have seen every episode.

If we are seated next to an aisle I need the aisle seat. Except on airplanes then I need the window seat.

I hate talking on the phone. Text me. I'll send a text to you asking what you want before my voicemail picks up.

I will not eat another food item on my plate until the first one I started eating is gone. That means on Thanksgiving if the first thing I take a bite of is turkey, I will not eat anything else until all the turkey on my plate is gone... And so on and so forth. Mixing corn and mashed potatoes is the exception to this rule.

I also will not take a drink until I have completely finished eating... I'll drink before or after, but never during. Unless I'm choking.

I am extremely OCD when I am trying to go to sleep. If anything is out of place (clothes in the floor, closet door cracked open, glass on the night stand.. Whatever) I will have to fix it before I can rest. I just can't do it.

I also hate talking on the phone.. And I've spent 5 years of my life in call centers, so how does that work out?

Still thinking of more... I'm a trip.

My closet doors must be closed before I can get in bed.

My bed (it has wheels) must be pushed up against the wall before I can get in it.

When eating skittles or M&M's I have to separate them out according to color before I can start eating them.

When I walk into a bar or resturaunt, I immediately must go to the restroom. Doesn't matter if I went 5 mintues ago. This is a big pain at places like Nashville with tons of bars.

Do not call me. My phone is never on "ring". Always silent. Even without any notification, I'll see and respond to a text usually within minutes. You try to call me and I won't even see it for at least an hour. It's amazing.

My wife is exactly like this. Cold winter night tucked in bed she'll notice a drawer isn't completely closed. She'll get out of bed to close it.

She also can't have the open end of my pillow facing her.

Of course she's never seen a Clint Eastwood movie so that might explain things.

No matter the weather, I will never sleep in anything other than gym shorts. Can't remember the last time I wore a shirt or long pants to bed.

I have to lock my car doors multiple times with the key "faub" every time I leave it. Doesn't matter if I have it parked in my parents' garage. I lock it at least twice before going inside.

Seriously.

One of mine is that I have to finish reading a book, watching a movie, TV series, etc. to the end, even if it's horrible. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part I have to slog through these things to the end no matter how bad or time wasting they are.

I will hit the lock button multiple times, put the key in my pocket, and get out. However, before I close the door I have to feel the key in my pocket.

I'm just going to warn everyone...I don't think we have enough server space for me to list all mine. I'll try to condense the list and get back to you this afternoon.

This probably isn't that peculiar, but I'm constantly tapping my pockets to check for keys, wallet, and phone.

I would call that a pecularity if you look like a school girl playing.

Before I go out, I count to make sure I have what I've come to refer to as "The Big 4".

Tap front left pocket to verify cell phone is there, tap front right pocket to verify iPod is there, tap left back pocket to verify wallet is there, and then look in my hand (yes, look.. Can't just feel) to verify my cars are there. And I physically count 1-2-3-4 out loud as I do so.

The wife makes fun of me. I don't care.

I am the same way with skittles. I always save the purple and red as my last two colors and will eat the least amount of the purple or reds first.
