That became obvious when the presser started and the SC cheerleaders were on the stage.

Good luck to him, but I think he is messing up.

Mistake IMO.

Worked well for Leinart, right?

^Exactly my point. However, with the new rookie scale in place, the money difference won't be as drastic, but he can't possibly have his stock any higher than it is now IMO.

With Luck going this year I would disagree. He can be the #1 QB next year.

Not really too surprised, kid wants to leave his mark at USC and wants a shot to be the first QB drafted when he leaves. He'll play and get paid in the league some day, his success in the league only effects how long he gets to play and get paid.

Somewhere the Redskins and Dolphins are throwing a fit.

Is it just me or does it seem awful narcissistic to hold a press conference to announce you are staying at a school you already attend?

I don't see how staying in college another year is ever a "mistake".

They are the best years of one's life.

In Matt Barkley's case, he has a chance to potentially play for a National Championship, be a Heisman trophy winner, and be the number 1 quarterback in the 2013

NFL draft.

So what is not to like about this arrangement?

I know what you are saying, but what about an injury?

It would if you were someone that wasn't going to be a high pick.

To some, money isn't everything. I find that refreshing.

1 - He's making as much in LA as he would in the NFL.

2 - He has a much better chance of being the #1 pick next season.

3 - He's BMOC at USC!
