Was Colin Dupont in the rotation? Another great kid who hits the little white ball very very well.

 

Yes, Dupont played some and I believe Tyler Shields played a little as well. They played 9 total. I too was surprised that Evan Morse did not get any playing time. Just assumed he is still a little slow on the basketball court coming back from his knee injury and still getting his legs back from football.

 

NCC looked awefully big and long and have a couple nice guards, obviously in Highchew and Bueter. They will be a tough out after they get a few games under their belt.

Hatton, Stansberry, and Evans all handcuffed with 4 fouls in the 4th quarter was a big factor in NCC putting up 28 in the final period imo.

 

Not a bad 1st game for the Breds...they should be a tough out in March.

It's going to take some time for Evan Morse to get into the flow, he hasn't played for such a long time and never in a varsity game. With that being said however, if the Breds don't start hitting the boards better he could help. The breds were 2-3 inches a man bigger than Dixie and got out rebounded big time. I think Hightchew was their leading rebounder in the first half. Dixie is a very good shooting team but have a difficult time guarding the post. Drew McDonald was a beast especially for a freshman but if Dixie plans on advancing very far in the state tournament they better find a way to defend the paint.

NCC is not a very physical team so Andy Miller must step up and play like everyone (but him) knows he can. By the way where were the Dixie fans/students? #1 team in region not traveling very well. Can't get more than 20 kids out of what 1200 to show up to a game.

NCC built a big lead in first half with Drew McDonald scoring 15. Drew didn't play in second half and NCC held on for a 4 or 5 pt. win. Drew McDonald 36 on the night, WOW!

NCC won JV game.

 

Young Pangallo kids for NCC can play. Niehaus for Dixie got in early foul trouble that hurt Dixie. NCC Freshman McDonald played first half and had around 15 points, but then did not play the 2nd half of JV game I'm assuming due to the fact that he was going to play a lot in the varsity game.

You are right on about Andy. He stepped up in the regional finals last year, and there is no reason he can't do that every game.

Shocked to see Evan Morse watch the game from the bench tonight?? I know he was injured last year, but thought he might see some minutes. NCC played maybe 8 kids.

I was at the game last night. It ended up being competitive, but Dixie was never really challenged after the first 2 minutes. For a 1st game NewCath perfromed as expected, rusty. Dixie did a great job of crashing the boards and finding the open man. Dixie did a great job passing the ball. NewCath #34 bless his heart had a hard time in the eraly going buying a bucket. I know you play the what if game, but if he hits half of the looks he had from3 feet away in the 1st half then the outcome maybe different. Of course with Hatton dropping 20 plus in the second half that would still be tough to pull off.
