17 seasons is hard to do. As i said previously he can now spend more time with his beautiful family and sit with the rest of us second-guessers.

I kind of feel sorry for Tom's dad and coach Vaughn. I know what being around those boys means to them.

I would imagine Coach Vaughn will remain no matter the coach. He and Mrs. Vaughn are Mr. and Mrs. Dixie. I couldn't imagine Dixie football without the two.

They are two very special men, and I know the boys looked up to them also. I still remember my son coming home talking about Coach Vaughn, and how he knew a coach in south Georgia in Lowndes County.

Could be Marksberry, I think he just finished his 12th season. Thompson may have a year or two more seasons, but I'm not sure. I don't think Warner has more than these two, though he's not far behind.

Who do they go get to run the program? I'd have to say its definitely a top 3 job in NKY.

Congrats Tom for a pretty darn nice career. Were there some low moments? Sure. Any coach that had the opportunity to coach as long as you did has some low moments. But there were plenty of high moments also. Remember them and remember the positive affect you had on a lot of kids. All the best in whatever you decide to do in the future.

I'd disagree on top 3.

 

I'd say the top jobs are Highlands, CCH, Ryle, Beechwood,and NCC.

 

The biggest upside job is Campbell County.
