Do you really think CovCath's defense is that much worse than Johnson Central's and Ashland's?

Bradley Way, a 6-foot-3, 278-pound offensive lineman for Covington Catholic, has been offered a full-ride scholarship to play football at Wofford University, where ShaDon Brown, formerly Rowan County’s head coach, is an assistant.

Covington Catholic 56-21.

CovCath will roll. Should win by at least 3 TDs.

Hold on for a second folks! This Rowan County team is good or at least better than most of you think they are. They are 8-2 and if healthy would have given Ashland and JC a better run for the money.

 

What maybe some of you didn't know is that they were hit hard with some injuries during the season and finally now are at full strength.

 

Do I think CovCath will win? Sure I do but this team that is coming to Park Hills on Saturday is better on the offensive side of the ball than a lot of teams CovCath has played this season and reminds a lot of folks of Conner!

Any time you're playing a D1 QB you have to be concerned.

 

However, JC put up 42 in one half on them only two weeks ago. Do we know if the D was missing key players then?

Highlands is better than anyone in theres, but, when you have 2 teams like Ashland and J.Central, who are relatively even with Cov Cath and an 8-2 Rowan team as a 3rd place finisher, which is better than your 3rd place finisher, I wouldn't call it weak. I do think Cov Cath comes out on top in this one because of Rowans inability to stop any good offenses, but, I do think that Rowan puts up 21-28 pts themselves.. I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 49-28..

I wouldn't describe it as weak. Ashland and Johnson Central have been in/around the top 10 in Class 4A all season and Rowan County has had a very solid season. And Boyd County was making improvements late, although they'll likely get trounced by Highlands. The only awful team would be Greenup County.

 

I'm not sure there is a better and more balanced all-around district in Class 4A, with the possible exception of District 6 (Rockcastle, Russell, Knox, Clay). Most districts (like District 7 for example) have one or two good teams, then two or three bad teams, without a lot of middle ground.

Hard to say your third place finisher is a better team than ours based on records without taking into account who they played. I have no idea about Rowan but Holmes losses were to Highlands, CCH, Beechwood, Newport Catholic, Holy Cross and 6A Simon Kenton. That's losses to the top two teams in 4A, the second ranked 1A team, the first and eighth ranked 2A teams and a 6A team. Pretty solid teams. I also don't think you can put Ashland and JC even with CCH although that will become known soon enough. I'd say our district is probably stronger.

Let's be honest. The HHS/CCH district is weak.

 

We'll know more about the other district in the next two weeks.
