Just arrived back in Mayfield, I am so over joyed I do not know what to say

I would amend that by saying that they caught fire with 6 weeks left in the regular season.

Thank you Cardinals! I will be lucky to ever experience a run the magical again. Given up for dead to Champions of the World!

 

Now in a few weeks my other Cardinal team will get the chance to make a title run and if they do it I will beable to say that this year it's all in the Cards!

Game 6 being cancelled hurt the Rangers because it allowed the Cards to come back with Carpenter.

Capernicus41 had the night every baseball fan dreams of. I'm sure he'll remember it forever.

 

It was absolutely amazing. We got there around 3 and just walked around downtown into different bars and what not. Everything was buzzing. We sat outside the ESPN set for a bit and saw Kruk, Schilling, and Ravech all walk onto the set. They were all really nice and interacted with the fans. We got inside the stadium around 530 and just took it all in. It was amazing just seeing the media coverage and all the people down on the field. The Rangers seemed really lose and it was fun watching Ron Washington interact with his players. Steven Jackson and a few other guys from the Rams were sitting in our section which was pretty cool to see them.

 

The place was just buzzing, unlike anything I've ever experienced. When Carp gave up the 2 in the first, it got pretty quiet. But when Freese got up it was almost like everyone knew that he was going to come through, and when he did it just exploded. Can't imagine what the past month has been like for David Freese. From about the 7th on, every pitch people were going crazy about and I don't think we sat down. Each out everyone would hold up how many more outs.

 

Probably one of the cooler things I saw was all of the people outside the stadium. I ran out to check in between innings and it was amazing. A few thousand people were going nuts and chanting "let us in!". In the 8th a few people broke through the gate, and then in the top of the 9th they let everyone in. Really awesome and packed, we couldn't leave if we wanted to.

 

The last out was just insane, everyone just was hugging and going crazy. I video taped the final inning on my dad's phone (of course mine died) and we probably watched it 5 times on the ride home.

 

We stayed in the stadium until all players went down into the dugout. We hung out downtown for another hour, then went back to the hotel. We took the metro train back to the hotel and it was shoulder to shoulder packed with Cardinals fans. It was so much fun though as everyone was cheering and talking about the game. At one point some guy started a "Happy Train" cheer, referencing the Cardinals "Happy Flight" cheer, which was hysterical.

 

As you said LRCW, I'll never forget that night. What was really awesome was that I got to share it with my dad, who is the reason I am a Cardinals fan. We watch so many games together over the summers when I'm home, and when I'm at school I'll call him almost after every Cardinals victory and recap it. Unfortunately, my brother wasn't able to make it, which sucked because he is as passionate about the Cards as both my dad and I. He was really happy that we both got to go though.

 

What a magical run by the Cardinals this year though. I can't imagine ever going through something like that again, but who knows. I want to reiterate what someone said before and tip my cap to LRCW and the other Reds fans on here who have been great sports. I really hope all of you guys get to experience another Reds World Series, and if the Cardinals aren't in the playoffs or in contention I'll be pulling for the Reds. Of course that is easy for me to say now but I'm sure when I'm at another Brandon Phillips walk-off (which I was this year) I might have a different opinion:lol:.

Great post. The fact that you got to enjoy it with your dad just makes it that much better. I'm sure he'll treasure if for the rest of his life as well.

I'm still pumping adrenaline! I had a meeting scheduled at the Ballpark Hilton for about 6 months now. It's basically 200 yds from MLB Tonight, the stadium etc. I said what the heck and put in for Game 6 tickets if it made it. I had a meeting all week + my flight was supposed to leave Thurs night. They messed my flight up before I left and I couldn't get home until around lunch on Fri.

Our meeting had rooms for $80 a night when the Cards were out of it. Ended up around $600 a night but ours were locked in at that rate! Worked out there was no pressure on flying home because it was moved till Fri which worked out great after the rainout! I bought the cheapest ticket I could find + moved all the way down to the 1st row right by the dugout when Freese hit the bomb! My phone is jacked up so I missed a bunch but I'll post a few pics later.

I've been to and done a lot of things. NOTHING has ever come close to this! Words can't describe it! Maybe electirc, amazing, insane, joyful I don't know. I know I jumped around and hugged about 50 strangers for a long time lol. The added drama of Pujols last game possibly made it even more intense. I've always been a Berkman fan so that topped it off.

Night was amazing. I got home from White Castle at about 4 in the morning lol.

As if that game wasn't enough I got on my plane and OZZY SMITH was sitting 2 seats from me!!!! I got to say hey!!!! Then woke up and watched my nephew (who was a 3.8 lb triplet + pretty sick when he was born) win his final 4 game playing tailback+ILber. Just an awesome weekend! 1st time I've been home in 8 days lol.
