I'm sorry you weren't around to see Bench play.

Or Pudge in his prime.

I'll let you guys fight about that issue. But I have never seen another catcher that can throw out runners like Molina.
In my life time he's the best I've seen. I can't compare him to guys like Bench because I never saw them play. If Bench or anyone else is better I have a hard time believe it's by much.
Congrats to all the BGP/Cardinal fans. :thumb:

Thanks

Bench threw out 44 % of base runners over 17 years. Pudge was actually a little better throwing out 46 % over 21 years. Molina is at 44% over 8 years.

Awesome run by the Cards. Congratulations. In reference to the posts above about the two brothers getting tickets: if we're thinking of the same two brothers who are good friends of mine, they couldn't be bigger St. Louis fans. Can't wait to hear from them how insanely incredible tonight was for them. Tip of the hat.

Freese may have got the MVP but the rain had to be a close 2nd.

Pretty comparable on the defensive side but Bench was better offensively.

I'm sure Washington got some votes too.:lol:

I'm sure we are talking about the same two. One had to travel from Columbia, SC.

Bench was at 50% after his first 8 seasons. Molina is a great catcher, but let's see how he stacks up in that department after 9 more years of wear and tear on his body.

I agree but in my lifetime those three have set the standard defensively. Bench is still the greatest but Molina is not far behind.

I've been around a long time and Pudge was probably the best I ever saw. He gets the edge over Bench and Munson.

Congrats to the Cards - played some great ball over the last 6 or 7 weeks.

A tip of the cap to the sportsmanship of oldrambler & LRCW.

Agree

Congratulations to St. Louis on an incredible run.
