I just saw the full 6A bracket, and yep you win you could play a team you just played last a couple of weeks ago.

I've been around soccer/softball tourneys for 40 years, and when they made out the brackets they would try and play teams who wouldn"t have played until you got near the semi finals or so. Oh well.

But football has always been this way hasn't it? 8 districts total. 4 teams from each district make the playoffs to decide 4 regional champs. Each region pits 2 districts against one another. If all the teams from one of the districts win their first round game they will face a district opponent in the second round. The only way to avoid this is to put one team from each district into each regional. But that would mean teams traveling across the state to play games.
Many are saying N. Ky. 6A is down, but I could see all four N. Ky. teams winning their first round games. On the other hand, I could see all 4 losing too  That is the way it has been in N. Ky. 6A this season. You never know who is going to play well on a given Friday night.
Isn't SK from NKY?

Yes, so there is actually 5 teams in the playoffs.

Isn't SK from NKY?

Not at this point in the season. They got kicked out of N. Ky. and sent to some other district down state.

Voice of Reason is correct. Since there are 5 NKY 6A schools and a other districts have only 3 our 5th place finisher goes on the other side of the bracket from the other NKY schools. So while Boone, Ryle, Campbell and Dixie have a chance of seeing each other as early as round 2, the only way SK will see a NKY team is if SK and one of the other 4 make the championship game. My guess is the odds are better you'll win the Powerball.

Remember, KHSAA originally put Dunbar over in a Louisville district and shifted Simon Kenton down to one of the Lexington districts. Then they decided since Lexington has 8 teams (4x2 districts), it would be better to displace just one team. The 5th NKY seat now becomes the 4th seat in that Louisville district on a trial basis for 2011 and 2012 post-seasons.

Doesn't one of the NKY teams travel to Trinity?

Never mind, didn't read the rest of the thread.
