The kickoff goes for a touchback and on the first play after the kickoff, Cathedral's QB scrambles to his right and heaves up a hail mary (no pun intended)...the Moeeler DB should have caught it but mistimed his jump and the Cathedral receiver caught it and was dragged down at the Moe 22 with just 1 second to go on the clock (which the refs ended up having to keep on the field)...Cathedral rushed its FG team onto the field and the left-footed kicked drilled a 40 yard kick for an Irish victory.

I am glad to see Cathedral played well, but I was really hoping that Moeller would be undefeated when they came to Trinity.

If I was a high school football coach ,I'd get a copy of that game and show it every week of the year , to my team. I'd say this is what happens when you don't give up (MOE) , AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T MAKE THE PLAY ( long pass at the end of game for Indy Cathedral).

 

I remember some guy (me)before the season talking about the over-rated GCL South teams on Trinity's schedule. Let's see , Moeller ( don't have to worry about the national title anymore ) , Elder (done ) ,Cincinnati X ( done ) and I'll throw in Colerain ( even though their not in the GCL South) , how many home game winning streak do they have now ?

 

I'm always glad to see the ohio big boys fall to the Ky and Indiana teams. I wanted Trinity to smoke mighty Moe , so now when Moe plays T they have an excuse ( we are resting our staters for the playoffs )

 

I watched this whole game and Mighty Moe couldn't stop the running game or long pass plays all night long !

 

Am I wrong ? Maybe the Ohio teams aren't over-rated or is Trinity just that great ?

Me too , but I'm still happy !! It was senior night at Indy Cathedral , no better way to go out by beating #6 in the country. This memory will last a lifetime for everyone involved !!!! Well done young men!! :thumb:

According to all the schedules I've seen, Moeller was the host team tonight...the did wear the "home" jerseys. Anyways though, it was still a fantastic finish...just glad I was able to see the final couple minutes since the internet here is shoddy right now.
