How much longer before Mitch Barnhart finally says, "enough is enough, Joker, you are out!"?

I can't imagine him giving up on Joker after only 2 seasons. I think he gives him another year. I like Joker, he seems like a great guy, and he's UK through and through. However, he clearly seems a bit overmatched as a HC in the SEC. :idunno:

You guys are going to have to act way crazier than this if you want him fired this season.

 

You will definitely need to maintain the frothing into basketball season.

 

I predict that there's no way Joker gets cut loose this year.

I think it would be pointless to fire him before the end of this season.

 

If things continue as they have been, which means UK will suffer several more humiliating losses and finish with 2 or 3 wins, then I honestly think the AD would be justified in either decision.

 

I don't have a lot of confidence that things will improve a lot if Joker is back for another year. But, it would also be tough to fire somebody over one bad season, even one this bad. I won't complain (about the decision) either way.

In no way will UK fire him during the season, heck they may even retain him next season if they fear losing Towles as a result of firing Joker.

 

 

But I think they'll be close to firing him if they win just 1 more game this season and they are humiliated in the rest of the games. Fans will be outraged and I'm sure there will be a lot of heat under Mitch to fix the football program.

A head coach is only as good as his assistants. You have an offensive coordinator whose numbers at Tennessee were among their lowest and a quarterback coaching the receivers. Is there any wonder why the offense struggles like it does?

We will see what happens as the season goes on and you get to see more and more of those silver bleachers during games because no one is sitting in them. Heck, come the end of November, Tennessee might have the home crowd.

The offense gets worse every week. It's not like Joker took over a team that needed to be re-built. He took over a team he helped to build. I'm all about giving coaches a chance but this team has slowly declined under Joker. Not sure what giving him more time will do.

While I agree it is bad right now, I live in TN and I don't think we have to worry about that. At 3-2 with a brutal stretch of games and their starting qb out, the UT fans are giving up on this season.

You make a valid point. If I'm mistaken did Joker replace several assistance when he took over. I believe he said he wanted coaches who could recruit. Next he might want to go after coaches who can also coach. I don't think its an accident that the o-line has regressed under a new coach.

I think that UK has to keep him one more year. I just can't justify letting go of a guy after two years, unless he has done something illegal. I think it seems like Joker will probably get the boot eventually, but not this year.

So out of the 9 non-graduate assistants Joke has hired 6 of them since taking over and one of the 3 hold overs was demoted and has 1 foot out the door. So if it is the assistants who are at fault he hired them. Somewhere the guys he ran off are having a good laugh. I think of the o-line coach in particular.

If its going to happen eventually then they should cut the cord at the end of the year.
