Congratulations Bobcats. Sounds like a game you hate to see anyone lose.

After watching Somerset play both of these teams the last 2 weeks I thought this would be a great game. All 3 teams are very evenly matched. Probably the biggest difference in the 3 teams is at quarterback. Trent is an excellent quarterback and is in his 2nd season as a starter while Somerset and Hazard both have first year starters. I think that is a big reason the Bobcats went 2-0 against Hazard and Somerset. Congrats to the Bobcats. I think all 3 teams will be better for playing these games and all 3 can make some noise in the playoffs.

I'm with you on that one. I expected the other two games to be closer, although it sounds like both of them were closer than the score indicated.

I listened to most of this game with the Hazard announcers and it was a dandy. Both teams killed themselves with penalties and Breathitt also with turnovers. The Hazard announcers said Breathitt really controlled the game, but the turnovers really made it closer than it should have been. Thats not to take anything away from Hazard, they probably should have won this game. Turnovers are part of the game and Hazard had a good part in causing those I am sure. They scored on all 3 of them as well.

Quarterback Richard Trent scored his third touchdown of the game on a 43-yard run with 2:20 left to give the Bobcats the win at home. Trent finished with 208 rushing yards.

Breathitt's Will Collins returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and added a 1-yard TD run.

Wow must have been a heck of a game. Congrats to the Bobcats.

Breathitt County committed 3 TO's in the first quarter and Hazard capitalized by scoring 27 points in the opening quarter. The Bobcat D shut the Bulldogs down from that point on and they clawed their way back. Late in the fourth (around 5-6 minutes to play) Breathitt scored to tie the game at 27, but Hazard blocked the PAT to keep the score tied. They then proceeded to return the ensuing kickoff for a TD to put themselves back ahead 34-27. The Bobcats returned the ball near mid-field and then Trent broke the big TD run a few plays later. Holcomb decided to go for 2 and the Bobcats converted and held on for the win. Pretty exciting game. Both teams deserve credit. Hazard for taking advantage of opportunities to build a lead, and the Bobcats for keeping their composure, fighting back and pulling out the win.

Hazard played a really good game....took advantage of BHS turnovers and played with lots of heart...Congrats to Hazard and the Bobcats, one of the better high school games of the season!!

Sounds like a really fun game. I would liked to have seen this one.

Conj: to Mike and his Bobcats. Good win!!!!
