Simon Kenton 29 Boone County 0 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Highlands beat SK by 40. It could have been much worse.

Does Boone have injuries or did they commit like 10 turnovers? I can see SK getting better as the season progresses, but this is like a 70 point swing.

So Simon Kenton has double the talent of Highlands?

Of course they always do! :D

Anyone know who's the Qb for SK? I heard some pewee parents in the stands talking about a good one in the pipeline.

Maybe Winkler but not for sure.

I think SK wants a rematch with Highlands. As they say its not how you start the season its how you finish it!

Congratulations to the young 'Neers. Sounds like a fairly talented group could be forming. If this team stays together, any thoughts about the future of the varsity program?

You could spin it like that if you want. I think my theory of everyone elses "State Championship game when they play Highlands" would be more like it. Everyone wants to take their best shot at the Big Dog.

Just ask Notre Dame fans or the Yankees or the Celtics. LOL.

No question there is something to that theory.

However, the bigger issue is that this class as a whole is not as talented as recent teams. Now that doesn't mean that can't get enough players out of this class and marry them up with talent from other classes and be strong in a few years.

Just waiting cuz if I said this I'd get pounced. Lol

Birds are fine, nobody remembers Frosh championships like they do the big ones.

Race for 8 is what they should be expecting :D

Some have used words like "Mediocre" to describe Highlands teams of past that lacked talent. LOL..............

Strictly in a relative measure I'd say this class is mediocre measured against previous HHS classes. "Relative" is the key.

Enjoy our smothered and covered. Tell ABC to go sell something.

I'd say HHS would like that rematch also. Good way to get their confidence up.

Clyde -- point well taken. Whether the evaluation was incorrect initially, the players got better over 3 yrs in the HHS system OR they were integrated with other classes (or, most likely, some combination of the 3), the same kind of comments were made about the 2007 HHS Frosh team that went 14-1 last year and won State.

Your point on relativity is also well taken. Last year's 10-0 Frosh team was a "beast" and any team would likely suffer in comparison the following year.

Agreed JPa...the only two Frosh teams I have seen at Highlands who were absolutely dominant were probably Austin Collinsworth's class and last year's team with Harris and the boys. In the end they merge with the studs above and form a happy family.

Ryle lost to Boone 6-0, pounded SK by 23, so whats the outcome with Highlands?
