You are correct in saying his dad is a coach with South Kenton, however, that had nothing to do with him being South Kenton's quarterback or the current freshman quarterback. He stepped up when Simon Kenton's current varsity quarterback quit on his team and led South Kenton to two winning seasons, including a winning Super Bowl. Yes, he's a nice kid, an awesome leader and earned every minute of playing time he got at South Kenton and that he's now getting at Simon Kenton. And I wouldn't be surprised to see him give Simon Kenton's varsity quarterback a run for his money next year.

How can you predict what a player will be 3 years from now, maturity, growth, develpoment ... impossible

Frosh ball is about getting kids ready for varsity. If I ran a program I would not want my coaches limiting the number of kids that get to play in the name of winning. I want to be able to have a lot of kids to choose from and I don't want my frosh coaches determining what kids come back and what kids do not come back.

 

Winning should be the secondary goal of any good frosh program. Why play a kid at qb that you know is not going to play it in high school? Why give all of the carries to the prematurely-developed running back that has maxed out in growth and is not going to dominate in high school? Why run all of the time just because you can and not develop a passing game even though it's a work-in-progress?

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Since you obviously know that our son goes to that "tiny out of district" school, you also know that he went there for academics, not football. But don't worry, we're quite happy with our football program and he never comes off the field in JV games and even sees some varsity time.

Its not funny, just stating some facts as is many others. BC is a very good football team when at full power and I have a real hard time understanding how SK beat them. After reading a few more posts I now get it. Like I said earlier these kids are all young and inmature and will grow up sooner then later hopefully. Guru "Trainwreck" description must be spot on imo.

I normally only use the term trainwreck to describe some of the women I have dated but in this case it applies too.

So where does this put Campbell County. The Camels beat Simon Kenton 35-6, and lost to Highlands, 14-54. Against SK, the Camels took starters out at the 4 minute mark of the 3rd quarter. Freshman are all over the place!
