What is your confidence level that Bowling Green can bring home the trophy now that we have seen them look impressive in all their games? Scale of 1-10.

I hope that if the get there they can perform better than they did the last three times they went. I suspect they will, especially considering (a) their opponent likely will be weaker, and (b) they are stronger than those past teams.

 

But they have to get past the second round which they haven't done since 2008 and they will probably have to beat a very good John Hardin squad.

My confidence that Bowling Green can bring it home has never wavered from a 10. Will they? I think gchs_uk9's post speaks more to that. The Purples definitely have a tougher road than say John Hardin would, but Bowling Green should be and will be favored over any team they play.

Well it's has to be a confidence booster when you beat ST.X on the road. To me that was the most imressive win for any team in the state(outside trinity). But 5A won't be a cake walk, it's the most competitive class in football. For BG to even play John Hardin they have to beat WC and most likely Christian County on the road in the playoff's. I do think BG is the best team in 5A but sometimes the best team does not always win.

Anyone know the breakdown on their starters? Number of Sr., Jr., Soph. Do they have two way starters or use a platoon system?

If Bowling Green wins the district as they are favored to do, they would have to beat WC or Christian County in the playoffs, not both. Warren Central at Christian County would be the likely second round matchup. And if Warren Central won that game, Bowling Green would be at home.

This is a good resource to look at as far as starters. They platoon by default, though there are a couple of exceptions they will make as needed, but that's only for a few plays here and there.

But to sum up their classes for you:

 

Offensive Starters - 8 Seniors, 1 Junior (Lineman), 2 Sophomores (WR and Lineman)

Defensive Starters - 10 Seniors, 1 Sophomore (Linebacker)

 

The defensive sophomore starter is Lincoln Quick who was mentioned as one of the top sophomores in the state. The sophomore WR starter is Nacarius Fant who should've been mentioned in that same article.

I think BGreen and J.Hardin are pretty much neck and neck in about every category. So, I would maybe give them a 5.5 to 4.5 advantage, at most.. Then either Christian Co on the road or WCentral at home will also be a tough game.. I think BG beats either one of those 3 out of 4 games, but, there is that 25% factor in there.. I think on a scale of 1 to 10, they have about a 50% chance of making it to the finals and if they're fortunate enough to make ot, I think they have a 70% chance to win it all. I give em a 5..
