I get that. If you think your team will kill the next opponent, that doesn't need to be said. But to come on here and make statements that are falsehoods in your own mind just keep the players focused seems a little over the top. The coaches will keep them focused.

The fact of the matter is this is a message board and if the kids reading this board are more focused on what is said then the task at hand then they dont deserve to be on the field anyway.

Thats what Im saying....LOL. Some fans on here take it more serious than the kids do. They know what they have to do and its not read this board and start thinking they are better than they really are. Dale and his staff have them focused and they are playing great football.

I don't recall saying anything like that . John Harden is 5A, correct ? My Birds don't have to play them to win state , so I don't really care who they play or beat. Naw, celebrating my wife's birthday in Lexington. I didn't take it seriously but I understand the sentiment behind it. If I was a Highlands fan I would speak sentences of similar nature. As of today who in 4A can challenge Highlands? I hope my Rebels can but we aren't ready yet. Hopefully we will be in November. We shall see.

I started a thread earlier asking the question as to who would challenge the Birds and didnt get much information about the other teams. I know Boyle Co is a good team who will get better but so will the Birds and they will likely have to travel north to DCM. Lexington Catholic has a great QB but who else on that team is a threat? Johnson Central has JJ Jude but they have had him the past two years as well.

 

The games that I thinkn will be competetive for the Birds that are left on their schedule are CovCath (for a minute) and Elder. The 1st and 2nd round games are comical to say the least. I know, I know...Bryan STation a few years ago but what was that 1 team out of the last 39 in those rounds? The way the playoff system is in KY is a joke and it should be shortened. JMO

IMO, Boyle and LexCath are the only teams capable of challenging Highlands. I think LexCath may have the best offense to score with the Birds. I can answer the question a lot better after I see the first Boyle/LexCath match up in October.

With the realignment Highlands may be in an even region now. I know if Boyle beats LexCath in October every playoff game they play will be at home.

From now on, we alternate home/away in the 3rd & 4th rounds. The way it used to be, we were either home for both rounds in a given year, or away for both.

Very true. These are teenagers we're talking about. Anyone who thinks comments on here don't have any effect on them -- even if only subliminally -- is kidding themself. Now what they do with it is another matter. But if it didn't effect them at all, there wouldn't be so many coaches who frown on their players getting on boards like this.
