The reigning News Player of the Year in boys basketball may not be playing his senior season in Western New York.

Jaysean Paige, who helped lead Jamestown to the state championship game in Class AA as a junior last season, is currently living in Kentucky.

Paige told The Buffalo News via telephone from Hazard, Ky., Wednesday night that he "is still in the decision-making process" as to where he will attend school for his senior year.

Internet reports have stated that Paige has transferred to Perry Country Central High School in Hazard, a town of about 5,000 located in Perry County, home to about 30,000 in the eastern end of the state.

When asked about those reports, Paige said, "A lot of people say a lot of things."

Still deciding? A month into the school year? Beautiful.
I'm guessing that school doesn't begin up there until after Labor Day.

Interesting details on the circumstances of his move.

Up there? He's in Hazard, right?
Yes, but the kid is from New York and the story comes from a newspaper up there. My guess is that he is accustomed to starting school around Labor Day.

This stinks worse than catfish guts on a 98 degree day. I'm sorry but who transplants from NY to Hazard KY for work. Where has moment been the past 4 yrs and suddenly she is the driving force behind the move?

ID like to know who the mastermind in KY is that has him even close to enrolling.

"Sorry, teach, I'm accustomed to starting school around Labor Day. What did I miss?"
