I said this a few months ago that I was worried about this years UK team. I said this year could very easily be a 4 win season, and ending our bowl appearance streak. Obviously this is just the first quarter of the first game, they very well can end up blowing WKU out. I hope they end up doing great and prove me wrong, I just have a lot questions about this years team, especially the offense.

I see Newton has not improved. I'm sure I'll see all the "It's the first game", "Potential to...", blah, blah, blah comments. I just don't think that he is the guy. He may be the guy by default, but he is not going to lead UK to much at all.

I think it would have been a lot more successful had it been on a Saturday. I think they traded attendance for national exposure. Of course, even though the stadium is less than half full, it still will pull up WKU's attendance.

Let me be up front in saying that I have never liked Newton. I have made comments to that effect before, and was usually shouted down about how we were giving up on him early. I look at his performance in all his opportunities, and I just don't see it. He has an entire year to change that, and should he, I will gladly be wrong. There is just something off about him.
