I think Mayfield and Beechwood are clearly #1 and 2 or 1a and 1b...Then Hazard and Holy Cross are clearly 3 and 4 or 3a and 3b... I think the #5 thru #10 could be drawn out of a hat and you wouldnt get much complaint, because they're all pretty evenly matched...

 

I can agree with that to an extent. I just think from what I've seen of the two teams that I mentioned, they are real close. I could be wrong, just an observation. Of course, I see Fairview being ranked more on last years performance and their absurdly weak schedule then what they really have this year. But, that's just me.

I honestly think that Raceland and Pikeville should be ranked closer together. Now, it can be argued if Pikeville should be moved down, or Raceland should be moved up, but I have seen Pikeville, and I know Raceland, and they are much closer together then 5 and 9. But, it will be proven this Friday and then we will know.

I was told that the RAM fans will be treated great. But what happens on the field they can't control!

This should be a great game with an awesome atmosphere! Plus I hear the food ain't bad either!

I for one am excited to go to Pikeville and play a team with so much tradition and pride. And a team that is our own class (1A). And if we can go down to Pikeville where football is treated like a second religion. And pull out a win. It would be an awesome feat. And great for the mentality of our team.

I really don't mind being ranked eight nine or even ten at this point. I just hope that we play well enough to move up in the rankings each week. We'll see where the Rams should be ranked after we play fairview and Pikeville.

I also believe Mayfield and Beechwood are in a class above the rest of the field. I do believe Mayfield should still be #1.

This might be sort of off topic and might even be a great thread of it's own. What would 1A be like without Mayfield and Beechwood (say they both went to 2A). Would Louisville Holy Cross and Hazard pick right up where Mayfield and Beechwood left off or would 1A become a very competitive and wide open class?

I'm not sure, is PT better than SK? I have no idea as SK is 400 miles away and hard for me to know much about except for what is on here

I have no idea how SK compares but I would not call SK slow. They have speed at the skill positions. On the line, they seem to go for big over speed.

I watched some of the BW-SK game. Ok, I'll back up a bit. SK is not slow, however I wouldn't call them fast especially not PT fast. I also thought SK was not well coached. I give the early nod to BW. They are #1.

I agree with Voice of Reason. SK is not slow as a team but BW was faster as a team. BW's line has good size but they are a "lean big" and quick. That's the advantage they had over SK and will have against most opponents.

Beechwood/Mayfield is almost a 1A/1B type situation. You could make a case for either one. I guess whoever loses first will go to #2, but then if the other team loses, the first loser will go to #1.

I don't know what SK team you watched. The one that played BWood wasn't very good. Maybe the weakest OL I've seen, especially for a 6a team. Greenwood was about as bad offensively, but, they were at least decent defensively. Sk had a nice team last year, but, obviously they lost a good chunk of it...

Why would you say SK is better than Greenwood. Neither team is that good. When you make that 4.5 hour drive in Nov. You will see a fast 1A team , Crunch.
