It's Goodpasture, Tn, not Indiana. Goodpasture had cut the lead to 35-34, but, got an unsportsmanlike penalty after the TD and backed them up on the xtra pt that they ended up missing. As it turned out, Central scores 2 late TDs to make it a moot point, but, that miss really took the wind out of Goodpastures sails and changed how they had to approach the rest of the game and Central took advantage. Great game though that had alot of momentum swings and big plays. Good, solid win for Central. Goodpasture is a perennial power in AAA from the Nashville area. They're currently ranked 9th in there class, but, typically are in the Top 3-4 year in and year out.

Wales also had a tremendous game, ran for 240 yds, 6 TDs.. 4 rushing, 2 from 50 yds, caught a screen and ran 73 yds for another and then recovered an onside kick for another that he ran about 200 yds back and forth across the field and broke several tackles along the way. Definately the best player on the field.

Thanks for the details and I updated the thread title.

Starting to think Kentucky football is catching up to Tennessee. As a whole Kentucky doing very well this season against our southern neighbors.

Final

Thanks BF ! Do you think these teams from TN will have a different opinion of Ky football , Trinity and Central have done Ky proud !!

Jackets are on their way to Jacob The Jewler to get fitted for another ring........

Wales rushes for 264 yards and 6 TD's in the win. He only needs 2,400 to break Homer's all-time career rushing record. IF he stays healthy, I say he gets it.

If they go to the state final, he'd need to average 185 yards per game. Even getting upset in the second round (which isn't happening), he'd need to average 240 yards per game. So he's almost a sure bet, barring injury.

They sure have a great shot to repeat, but, imo, it'll be much tougher than it's it's been the last few years. Bell looks to be very solid, once again and Tilghman has similar speed and athleticism and finally a QB that can throw it and get it to there playmakers in space. They'll also give them all they want.

I think so too.

Congrats to Central, they are certainly the team to beat in 3A.

A great quote from the Nashville news and I love to see the sportsmanship!

Immediately after the game, several Goodpasture linemen went over to Wales and congratulated him.

“They told me good job and said they hoped to see me play on Saturdays and Sundays,” said Wales, who rushed for 237 yards on 25 carries and four touchdowns. He also had a touchdown catch and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

“I told them I hoped they win a Tennessee state championship this year.”
