Long road ahead but the schedule does offer a unique opportunity to the team to shine on a national level. A ring needs to be the primary goal... let the other accolades fall in place if they are meant to be.

I am neutral at this point. This team is very special, but I think it's too early to crown them the best. If they run the table, then no question in my mind. They will be the best ROCK team ever.

At this point (which I know is early) I say yes. As I stated in another thread T has had many good teams in its history but for some reason this one stands out much different than the others.

They are looking the part! POTENTIAL!!! We have to stay healthy going through this gauntlet of a schedule. One game at a time.

Question... How does an opponent prepare in practice for the speed that Trinity puts on the field. The big test will come in two weeks when we face the Ohio powers back-to-back on the road. I'm looking forward to visiting the pit again. What a great atmosphere... GO ROCKS!

Me too. I got there a little later than expected and had to stand by the fence. Beside me was a fan who thought it was necessary to explain to me all the X's and O's of football. :ohbrother::lol::lol: Needless to say I found a new place to stand after about 5 minutes of that. :lol::lol:

Very tough to say. One on the one hand this may be the best assemblage of talent that Trinity has had in a long, long time. On the other, the 2002 team had the best QB ever produced by Trinity and very quality skill position players.

 

The thing that may set this team apart from the rest is just how MASSIVE the offensive line is; Travis Wright literally has all day to throw. The offense can be stopped, but just very difficult with the talent the offense has and the depth at the skill positons.

The time to debate this question is after the season has ended. Yes, the potential is there, IMO. I think and hope that Coach Beatty and his staff will have the kids playing at their best throughout the season. I think he likes the makeup of this group. However, anyone can be beaten.

Great wins over two Tennessee powers but Elder at Elder is just brutal. Their kids and fans will be jacked and ready to send the Kentucky power home. As a Trinity fan and fan of all Kentucky teams when facing out of state teams, I have had my heart broken many times at The Pit.

 

Tennesse teams are good but Ohio teams are on a different level.

 

When's the last time Elder lost to a KY at the Pit?

One thing that has been a big "plus" for the 2002 Trinity squad is the fact that they beat a team (Elder) on a neutral field that won the rest of its games and captured the Ohio Division I championship that same year.

 

With the Ohio teams that Trinity is scheduled to play this year, I'd say there is a good chance Trinity could do the same thing this season (beat the eventual Ohio Division I champ).

My humble opinion is that if they run the table they will have beaten 2 or 3 best teams of that state. I don't see how anyone can argue that they shouldn't be the national champs....
