Simon Kenton 34 Casey County 9

Featured Replies

Did not see the continual clock many were predicting.

A buddy of mine at the game said the score wasn't really indicative of how well Casey County played. He said it was a much closer ballgame than 34-9.

14-7 at halftime. Casey played hard the entire night. Fatigue and turnovers caught up with the Rebels in the second half, but a definite good showing for a team with a thin roster.

Good to hear. Casey might be thin but they've got some decent talent. Stephens left a nice program and hopefully Marple can keep it going. This is a really good showing against a top 10 team in Class 6A. Congratulations and hopefully you guys can get into the win column next week.

Someone had mentioned at the HHS/Boyle game that Casey Co. only had 24 players. Is that true?

Let's see if that holds true 6 weeks into the season!

If so, that's both sad and impressive to an extent, to hang with a 6A school that's gotta have 60-70 kids.

That's a pretty good approximate number. There were four or five kids that were not in uniform due to injury.

No doubt. I just included it because that was all the pregame talk!

Probably. They had a really nice team last year and graduated a few. But football has always struggled at Casey to get big numbers. Their coach for the last 10 years stepped down after last year and they have a new guy. He'll do well, but it's always tough for them to get kids. The community support is strong, though.

Last week Casey County won a scrimmage against a 5A team that went 15-1 last year. This team is pretty good better than what people thank.

Wow....

Pulaski was 11-2 last season, not 15-1 (you can only play 15 games in Kentucky anyway)--they also graduated about 20 seniors off of that team.
