What he's saying is that the kids will probably not go there in the first place. Without Mike Yeagle the kids will go elsewhere. It's that plain and simple

AT BEECHWOOD I heard they just open up application process and from what I hear comming out of Ft Mitchell is the Coach Burnett and Coach Rash both are being considered for the Beechwood job. As far as Coach Yeagle goes he can coach from both sides of the ball and he sets his self up with some darn good coaches that know what he wants. Beleive me I have scouted Beechwood enough over the years and he does both very well. I wish him the best and wherever he goes he will make a great team coach wherever he is. JD

I'm not sure what I don't have a clue about. I offered no opinion other than to say that we cannot assume Y got it "royally" from the admin because most of us, including me, do not know the situation. Maybe you do and can enlighten us to end the speculation.

 

However, here's what I find interesting.

 

Yeagle was never fired, correct? He chose to resign from his teaching position, correct? He now wants to get back into teaching(good for him) but there appears to be no open position . He resigned his HC position, correct?

 

So the only way , from an outsider's view, that one can say he got it "royally" is to assume that he was lied to. He says he was to get an interview for an opening in the teaching positions. The school says there were no opening a)at all or b)that he was qualified for.

 

So, are you, Z, saying that someone is lying? If not, what's the issue? Why could he not stay at the HC and wait for a chance to get his teaching job back? Seems simple to us outsiders.

If you read between the lines, and its really not that hard, you'll find the answers to your questions. I've seen schools create teaching jobs to get a coach, and certainly none of them had the credentials of Mike Yeagle. Personally, I'm apalled. This particular power struggle has been going on for some time now, and it looks like Yeagle just said enough is enough. In the end, Yeagle will probably move to another school, where he is unlikely to have as much success as he has had in the past, not to mention less of a connection with the school(he really was a father figure at Beechwood). Write this down......in less than four years the principal at Beechwood H.S. will resign or be fired. Just MO.

He will be in NKY 4A next year as an offense coordinator. And anyone that knows me knows where it will be.

 

If what I understand is true, to be true, there could be lots of problems assoicated with him becoming the offensive coordinator:

 

1. What will happen when the head coach loses a few games to teams they should beat?

 

2. Will the natives become restless and call for a change?

 

3. Will other coaches start to look over their shoulder to him for direction instead of the head coach?

 

4. Will school adminstration look for a reason to make him the head coach, with all his background most kids would stay in the district instead of leaving for another school.

 

I am sure there are many more questions that we will talk about on here as the annoncement is made sometime in the very near future. On the record, I think the head coach at school X will get along with him on staff but I think there will be great pressure from outside the program to get him in the head job.

Is this really true? Obviously, we have heard this name associated with the program through numerous coaching changes, so its not all that suprising, but still. And I agree with you......either the plan is to make him the head coach in the future, or don't hire him at all. We've seen enough second guessing/shoulder looking over to last us a lifetime, pick one, stick with him, but do it now. That's my take.

Many times teaching postitions are "tagged" with coaching positions to entice people to come coach at a particular school. Also, just my own opinion, but I've always understood that if a head coaching job was offered to you, it was pretty well assumed that this would also include a teaching job.

Eventually a good coach will come along and finally make something out of all the resources and possibilties there are at Scott. It has to start from the Bottom grade levels up, but my lord it makes you wonder how they can't win there.

Me either, unless by resources you mean an effort by the administration and staff to bring the football team up to standard and get the kids invloved in sports. It can be done you know, just ask Mike Martin from Taft. It's a 4A school and they didn't even finish the year with a freshman team..... that ain't going to get you there.

I can think of one 4A program that has had people calling for a new coach for a while, and happens to also be the one that I think most people are talking about. If he does go there as offensive coordinator, the district just got a little tuffer and the region a little more interesting.

I agree with you Stud. Isn't that area of the county really growing and with some pretty affluent neighborhoods? Parents who can afford to send their kids to personal trainers in the off season and make contributions to the boosters to provide those special little things that can make the difference at times. It would be an uphill battle at Scott, but Yeagle would be a good platoon sargeant to charge up that hill with; maybe the best. He'd probably immediately start attracting some kids that had been going to other high schools in the county. And you know he'd get the existing athletes out of the halls and onto the field.

I know what I would do...... 15 years and a bad situation. I'm sure that this is alot less black and white than we would like to believe about who's at fault or how it came to be. Point is, he resigned from the school as a teacher first and now from the team as it's HC. He made it clear why he was taking a leave of absence when he resigned his teaching position. I believe he should have just taken a medical leave per the FMLA, then his job would have been protected. As is, he didn't, the job was filled, and they chose to keep a 6 month to a year employed teacher over him, a 15 year veteran teacher and winner of how many state titles for the school? Bad choice by the school no matter how you say it. If he wasn't good enough to teach, they should have fired him or not allowed him to come back to the team. As they did, they should have also let him back in the classroom. 15 years, 6-9 months. See a difference?

Someone said you can take a leave of absence for up to a year and be able to get your teaching job back. Plus, no one knows when Yeagle tried to get his teaching job back, and no one knows what the principle told him about getting his job back, and when he would get it back.

 

I would trust Yeagle's views on this issue.
