I would say right now the top five candidates:

(no particular order)

Nick Petrino, Trinity

Victor Anderson, St. X

Doug Beaumont, Male

Kasey Clark, Russell

Avery Hibbitt, Bowling Green

Stuart Hines might be the BEST prospect but an offensive lineman won't get Mr. Football in this state.

Is the Tamme kid back at QB for Boyle? He might be another top kid.

I realize that I, like every other poster, have not seen all the players in the state, but I must say after seeing Clark from Russell and Tandy from Christian Co, they would be my top 2 with Clark edging Tandy out IMO

If I had a vote it would go to Victor Anderson of the Saint Xavier Tigers. I remember when they played Lex Cath, and they were doing the starting lineups and he said THE running back, and he went out and had a fantastic game. The kid is an absolute stud.

I think both should be in the early running, but I don't think I would agree that they shoud be "the leading candidates". I've seen both of them play, and they are both excellent football players. I would not put either of them ahead of Clark from Russell.

Just my .02 cents' worth.

Ok.

Ok.

I'm not trying to belittle Anderson or Petrino, I'm just voicing my opinion that, at this point, Clark should be placed on at least equal footing to them.

Have you seen Clark play?

Frances

I have seen Clark play and he doesn't deserve the hype IMO. He is a good strong runner who makes big plays, but he isn't very explosive. Im sure you will say something like "he exploded on Belfry" but I didn't leave Russell that night thinking wow what a player. He is a very good back, but I have a hard time believing he is the best in the state, much less the best player.

Kaelin Ammons, QB, Franklin County

Victor Anderson, RB, St. X

Doug Beaumont, RB, Male

Kasey Clark, RB, Russell

Keith Tandy, QB, Christian County

One more thing. Remember how much Belfry fans loved and hyped Doug Howard. He was very deserving, but people on this board got tired of hearing it over and over. I see the same thing happening with Mr. Clark.

Are you suggesting that those of us that believe he is deserving of consideration shouldn't post in a thread that is titled "Mr. Football Next Season"?

I have no intention of writing "Kasey Clark should be Mr. Football" on every thread I choose to participate in, but when that is the item being discussed ... Well, perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought that was the very purpose of this thread.

As for Howard, he was a fine back, and you had every right to sing his praises. You are certainly entitled to think that Clark is an average back that happens to have the good fortune to run behind an excellent line, but for my money, he is an excellent back that runs behind an excellent line.

Thanks,

Frances
