I'll start by saying St. Xaviers Vic Anderson is definitely going to be in the mix. He's got all the tools that you want in a great RB, and puts up great #'s.

Top guys in the west (I know that doesn't impress anyone right now) ...

Keith Tandy, QB, Christian County

Emmanuel Taylor, RB, Hopkinsville

Avery Hibbitt, RB, Bowling Green

Also ... Stuart Hines, OL, Bowling Green

Nick Petrino of Trinity, and Victor Anderson of St.Xavier should be the leading candidates. Both these kids have proven they have big time talent.

How would you stack these three up against Kasey Clark? I saw Hibbitt's in the AAA game, and I like the way he runs, but I would definitely put Clark ahead of him.

To me, after hanging 44 TD's on the board this year, Clark has to be one of the frontrunners for the award next season. That stat is even more impressive when you consider that he didn't get touches in the second half of the majority of Russell's games this season.

Ashland has a kid that I think might garner some attention as the season unfolds - Drew McDavid. A lot will depend on how he is utilized in the offense next season.

I think both should be in the early running, but I don't think I would agree that they shoud be "the leading candidates". I've seen both of them play, and they are both excellent football players. I would not put either of them ahead of Clark from Russell.

Just my .02 cents' worth.

Ammonds from Franklin Co should be the best QB.

Hesh from Newport is another nice player but I like Ammonds more right now then him or Petrino who has been mentioned from the QB spot.

I'd say Anderson, Clark and Ammonds are the frontrunners and the guys mentioned above could be in the mix. Hibbitt had a nice year going into the final game and I'm sure he'll have a big one next year.

Wes Caldwell from Lex Cath should be the top WR and Ben Revere the top DB but those positions don't usually get the award.

Im surprised no one has mentioned Kasey Clark of Russell. Broke Josh Gross's single season TD record of 43 this year while leading the Devils to a state title game.

Newport will be pretty deflated. I think it will be hard for Hesch to duplicate his #'s from the past two season...

Aemons (sp) from Franklin County is my pick.........The kid is a very good QB with all of the tools you want in a leader on the field.....Great arm and very athletic...... :thumb:Best QB besides Burke that I saw this year......

Clark's state performance certainly helps his cause, certainly more than Hibbitt's did for his chances. From what I've seen of Taylor, I'd rate him above both of them.

Few outside the west have seen Tandy, who can run and throw. Henry Clay's people got a good dose of him earlier this season.

I put him as a leader in mine?
