Beechwood Names New Head Coach

Featured Replies

1988 BW Grad Michael Miller has been named the successor to Coach Shumate.

Congrats to him.

Good luck Coach!

Excellent!!!!

I've always felt that it is much better to have someone passionate and devoted to the program as your coach, rather than someone who might have a fancy resume, that might only be using the job as a stepping stone to better things, or who views it as just another job.

Congratulations to Michael Miller who is long overdue for the job!!!

What kind of experience does Coach Miller have?

Fantastic hire! Congrats Michael!!!

I have to admit I may not be objective on this one. I played high school football with Michael Miller (and his brother Rod) and they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Additionally, Coach Millers loves Beechwood and will give it his all. Again, great hire!

Coach Miller is very dedicated to the Beechwood program and Tiger fans should be happy with the hire. They are getting a great person and great coach.

For those of us that do not know or have not heard of him, can you tell us more about him. Thanks

Coach Miller is a Beechwood grad. He has been an assistant coach around the area. He was a member of the Pendleton County staff during their Sweet Sixteen run and he's been back a Beechwood a few years as a varsity assistant. He'll make it an easy transistion from Coach Shumate, but will put his own stamp on the program. Congrats to Coach Miller and best of luck with the transistion to DII basketball.

Thanks for the info.

Congrats to Coach Miller I played ball against him in HS and he was a great athlete. I'm sure he will keep the Tiger Pride rolling.

Good hire, easy transition for the program.
