Any new school needs 9 votes for approval UK already puts UL 1/4 way to failure and they only add a tv market that UK already has a strong presence in, so they won't add tv money!

They would most likely be a team of UK and Vandy caliber on a consistent basis and as you said it is not as if they are bringing in a big market. Not sure with the stadium being as small as it is would detract or not. Sounds to me the Texas A&M is more of a matter of when it will happen, not if it will happen.
August 15, 201115 yr The talk in this thread regarding Louisville has been about what it could bring to the table for football. That right there is exactly why I would never want Louisville to join the SEC. I am a casual college football fan at best, and there are a lot of Cardinal fans that are the same way: we only care about college football in as much as it concerns UofL and the game is secondary in our minds. We're primarily basketball fans. I wouldn't want Louisville to be in a conference where basketball wasn't the priority, this would go for the Big 12 as well. The move to the Big East was brilliant in that respect and as long as it stays together, I hope Louisville is a part of it. Not to mention, a move to either the SEC or Big XII would seem to put Louisville really out of place in conferences full of large state schools. The bulk of the Big East's members are urban universities, be they public or religious, and it's an aspect to the conference I really like. Edited August 15, 201115 yr by Getslow
August 15, 201115 yr On the Bama site they are saying this still could happen in a few weeks. What if the Pac-10/Big-12/SEC/ACC/Big East/Big 10, added 16 teams and allowed all D-1 schools in these conferences.

Solid fan base, but horrible market and do very little in terms of generating revenue for a league like the SEC. They would be on the radar, but schools like Mizzou, Va Tech, NC State and Oklahoma would for sure be in front of them on the wish list...

Here in one post I was promoting Houston as a possibility because of their market, and didn't even think how bad WVU's is.

August 26, 201115 yr To piggy-back on A&M's statement, Southern Methodist announced today that they would be interested in making a move to the Big XII. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. I've said all along that we could see the re-emergence of the old Southwest Conference, only without A&M and TCU (but perhaps with teams like UTEP and North Texas). It would basically be Texas and the other seven. Longhorns wouldn't have much beef in their league, but they could televise all the games on the Longhorn Network because their conference opponents would all get the channel. And they could beef up their non-conference schedule to remain in the hunt for a BCS berth annually. Just a thought...
