That's great news for Holmes as the Line was a real strength this season and should be that much better this season. Returning DJ doesn't hurt either.

Dixie Looses 5 key starters who were directly responsible for our success this season. We are lucky to have kids of excellent character IMO though waiting to take up the torch and step up to the challenge in front of them. The five departing seniors were all impact players though, and we will miss them. They made their mark on Colonel football and so will the next group.

They have a few holes to fill but i think Coach Schlarman will get it done with the up coming freshman and returning Wildcats.

Any key positions from the freshmen class? I heard that Newport had a really good freshmen team this year.

You guys lost some great kids! But it's about reloading at Dixie, not rebuilding. Good Luck to the Red Colonels next year, except when they play my dawgs of course!

Williamsburg loses 3 seniors, 2 of which were starters. Fairly large Jr. class led by returning QB Thomas Frazier, WR Chase Hamlin (leading receiver in the state), and LB Aaron Root(averaged nearly 20 tackles a game). Should be a solid season for the Jackets next year.

Rockcastle Co loses 4 on offense and the same 4 on defense plus one more on defense. Total 4 offense and 5 defense.

It will be interesting, to say the least, to see which sophomores and juniors will step up and fill these positions. This is pretty much what every team has to have happen every year to compete. Those players that got some varsity snaps this season should be fine and some of the "surprises" you get every off season will help fill all the needs. A little more speed and toughness, a lot more teamwork and everything works out fine. One thing the group of juniors and sophomores DO NOT lack is good work ethic.

Who will be in the running for QB next season at Manual?

Who will be in the running for QB next season at Manual?

Looks like the freshman QB will have a good look. There are two others that played JV, one will be returning as a senior but was really limited this year due to some injuries. Looks to be a wide open race.

The Paintsville Tigers loose 14 Seniors, all start somewhere. Next year will be a rebuilding year for the O and D line and pretty much everywhere else, except QB. However, we do have a FB and DB with some expenience which that will help.

We only lose 5 seniors. 3 starters on defense and 5 on offense. (3 of the 5 on offense played both ways.)
