July 22, 201115 yr Agreed. I like Huckabee personally, but he's way too tied with the religious right to ever make a serious run at the Presidency. Huckabee makes for a good candidate, I think, because he's polished, well-spoken, & often times witty. And while he is considered by some as a far right candidate, I can say that I am far right but it took a while for me to embrace Huckabee due to some of his immigration stances.

That is one choice where I think you have to forget about trying to win votes by picking someone from the right part of the country or to appease a certain set of voters. That is the first major decision by a Presidential nominee. Pick the best, most qualifed person to be President in your stead. The VP choice can hurt you much more than it can help you. A subject for another thread ...
