Is anybody else tired of Northern Kentuckians thinking their high schools are the greatest thing ever. The only school worth anything is Highlands, not Simon Kenton and not Ryle.

Beechwood and NewCath are extremely respectable schools within their divisions. Highlands is IMO the best program in the state. NKY 6A schools are making strides and a handful of other schools like CovCath and Dixie are never to far off from being legitimate contenders. NKY is arguably the the biggest hotspot in Kentucky for football, FYI.

Anyways, I don't want to thread jack. This will be a good bench mark for how Simon Kenton's season may start off. I'd say if they keep it respectable, they have a great chance of winning the district/region. Knowing virtually nothing about them however, I'll take St. X. And that's solely because they are St. X. I love that SK is challenging themselves with a tough scrimmage though. Best of luck and hopefully they come out unscathed.

Just a thought: UKfan gets more grief than anyone on BGP, some as a result of his confidence, some because people don't believe him. I see that. But, to be honest, I remember last season he made big predictions for SK and everyone raked him over the coals for it and told him that he was "Laughable". This year is a repeat. The simple fact is, I expect SK to be pretty darn good this year and those that don't see that are either: not wanting to see it, or just don't want to side with UKfan. Either way, I think some people are going to be surprised with SK.

As for the scrimmage. It's a scrimmage. But, I think SK will be competitive with St. X. And I expect a good scrimmage.

I think SK maybe a game or two over .500 this year. The 1a school from Ft. Mitchell will beat the Neers..JMO

I could see that happening, but I would have to say that could happen with many schools playing Beechwood this season. I just think SK is going to be much better then many would like to admit.

It's a scrimmage. It'll be close because it's a scrimmage. If it was a regular season game it would not be. It would be X by 4 TDs.

How can a 6A powerhouse possibly lose to a 1A school? This just makes no sense. SK should pound Beechwwod by 4 TDs like X would beat SK in a game.

I would not be so quick to predict a St. X Blow Out. I do not think that this is a "great " St. X team and this early in the season, I doubt it will be anything to write home about. St. X is Good, with many starting players from last year gone.

Glaser is going to change thinks up a bit this year, and you will see more out of the offense. Not sure how much more, but the QB is athletic in the mold of Buehner from a couple years back, and he can turn it up field and run with it.

Defensively, St. X has 4-5 really nice potential D-1 players that are fast, quick, big and strong. Some are going to be juniors. Maybe a better group than last year once the season gets moving.

The only prediction I will make is that Offensively, there are a some new faces and talent that will surprise many

SK will match up with ST X just fine!

Like many, you automatically assume that the larger school is always better. That can be a terrible mistake.

But I thought numbers were the biggest reason for T and X to be so successful?

All I am going to say is SK moved a couple players to some different positions and they are going to be a dangerous team and will win 6A in NKY! I know the SK players can't wait to play ST X after the last time they played them and nearly beat them at ST X!

There is a newfangled method of moving the football that I have heard whispers of in passing. This concept known as the "forward pass" is something I am quite curious about, does Glaser have any intention of adding this radical method of offensive movement to the Tigers' game? :bunny:

That is what I am wondering!

You haven't heard me say it. In fact, I have been criticized for saying the contrary, not about T and X only, but just in general. If that was the case, all larger schools would always win against smaller schools. And that just doesn't happen.
