NCC 42 Mayfield 7

Featured Replies

NCC did dominate Mayfield but Mayfield played almost 3 quarters of the game on offense with only 10 players on the field. One of Mayfields players seemed to give up after the score became 14-0 . He walked through the plays walked back to the huddle etc . Just his body language showed that he did not want to be on the field. It seemed that the Cardinal had to wait for him to return to the huddle a lot. This situation was commented on by a number of NCC fans during the game. Surely Mayfield's coach had a player standing on the sideline that wanted a chance to play in this game more than that young man did ? Did anyone one the Mayfield side observe this also?

Yes and alot of us have also talked about that, what a shame

I think the refs kind of lost patience too. After a couple of times of waiting, they put the ball in play thereby starting the 25 second clock when he was 20 yards away strolling back to the LOS.

Thanks for the confirmation about that . I kinda felt sorry for the kid but sorrier for the team that had to play with him moping around like that

Someone in another thread said he was all state is that correct or was that just part of the pre-game hype that you hear from every teams supporters? Even though I dont thinka change in his play that would have altered the outcome of the game he certainly let his team down with his attitude.

Enough about that. The the rest of Mayfield"s team played their hearts out in a losing cause.

KYTMCNCC,

We have noticed that all season...a couple of bad apples can affect a whole team! Sad to see, but for the most part the Cards played hard! Congrats to both teams again!

I too was shocked to learn that a couple of the Mayfield players quit early. My son told me that the guy guarding him told him several times (before the half) that he could'nt wait for the game to end, because he was cold and wet. In fact he joked with my son to stop blocking him....

That doesn't surprise me, but better get this discussion headed in the right direction or I might get myself suspended! I will say I'm glad to get the headaches and their baggage gone from the Cards roster!

Fabfour, congrats to your son, I know you are very proud...seemed to me that NCC has a good thing going! I think I speak for the Mayfield fans in saying we got smacked hard by the Breds!

WKYFootballguy,

Congrats to you and the Cards on a great season. I know that Mayfield is a better team than they showed Saturday night.

Congrats to the Breds on a fine season from a Beechwood fan. I just hope that Beechwood finds the best coach out there so these 2 teams can battle it out every year besides this year for the right to go to Louisville.
