June 7, 201115 yr Okay, I'm having this argument with some people from work...I always shower when I wake up in the morning before doing anything else. They insist it makes no difference if you shower when you wake up or if you do it right before going to bed the night before. I think that's gross personally. So what do you guys think?
June 7, 201115 yr It has to be in the morning no question about it. If I don't I just feel gross all day. I can see doing it before bed but even if I did I would have to get one in the morning too.
June 7, 201115 yr I wouldn't go so far as to say "gross" but I feel much different if I shower the night before, which I usually don't do.

I mean do people really think you don't get dirty or potentially sweat while you're sleeping...Gross! :puke:

I mean do people really think you don't get dirty or potentially sweat while you're sleeping...Gross! :puke: As a person who had to watch their weight down to the ounces for several years I can tell you that you lose at least a pound in your sleep and a lot of that is sweat. I ALWAYS shower in the morning. Most days I take a shower in the evenings too but never would find that as a substitute for the morning shower.
June 7, 201115 yr Doesn't it gross any of you out to get into bed dirty and then sleep in that grime all night?
June 7, 201115 yr Author Doesn't it gross any of you out to get into bed dirty and then sleep in that grime all night? Which is why I tend to shower both before bed and in the morning. But if I can only do one, I'll never miss my morning shower.
June 7, 201115 yr Morning. Evening as well only if I've done something that causes me to need another one. My normal day job doesn't. My ref gig does. Regardless, there is ALWAYS a morning shower.
June 7, 201115 yr Night time. I got into that playing football and showering when I got home from practice in the evenings. Kind of carried over into construction when I was still a field worker. I'd get home all sweaty and grungey and a shower was a must. I agree with Rockmom completely on being nice and clean before I get into bed. Climbing into a bed with fresh-cleaned sheets right after showering is one of the finer simple pleasures in life. I'll still take one in the morning if I've got an important meeting or something like that, but there's still always a night time shower worked into that schedule.
June 7, 201115 yr I'm generally an evening shower/bather. I get up between 4am & 4:30am every morning and am out of the house by 5:45. I do walk my dog for about half an hour or 45 minutes prior to getting ready for work, so if I get back home and it's a sultry morning, then I shower before I go to work. But if not, I shower/bathe in the evening. When I was growing up, bath time was in the evening, and after 18 years of such conditioning, I simply have to have a shower/bath before I can get a good night's sleep.
June 7, 201115 yr Evening usually. I usually work out in the evenings, or work in the yard, so a shower at night is a must. I also rise early and prefer to stay in bed as long as possible. I am follically challenged so I have no hair issues in the morning. Our bed is clean, so I have not experienced a grungy feeling in the morning as others have discussed. However, if I didn't have to rise so early, I would probably shower both in the morning and in the evening. I do like to shower in the morning, I just like to sleep a little bit more.
June 7, 201115 yr I workout almost every morning during the week before work. I usually shower the night before, get up, workout, then shower before going to work. On the weekends if I didn't do anything to get all sweaty I usually don't take a night time shower.
