June 4, 201115 yr I found the same thing. They added the red in '52, the same year that color TV came to the US. The only thing I have read is they did it so they would stand out better for fans watching on tv... ^^ I went looking when I saw that post and couldn't find anything. The better seen on t.v. explanation seems to be the only one. I didn't even see that, good work.
June 4, 201115 yr Mvp...3 run jack by Votto, sorry Kershaw you had a nice run...O patty boy not looking good for those Dodgers...I might have to go tomorrow now with my broom...I smell sweep!!!!
June 4, 201115 yr I love the two out add on in the seventh. Keep it rolling Reds. I love it as well...Everythings seems to click better when the Reds are at Home....The offense is probably about as close to fire on all cylinders as a whole than it has been all year...With the weather getting hot, I think the Reds will as well...Let's go Cubs beat those Cards...
June 4, 201115 yr Gwynn, Carroll and Miles all get hits. That will never happen again. Hate to see Cueto not get the win.
June 4, 201115 yr This stinks...Hopefully they can just get of this tied...I like our chances against the Dodgers pen

I was flying today and just on here to see what was up. I honestly didn't even realize they had an afternoon game. I turned on the game just in time to see the granny by Kemp and now I read this post. Am I missing something here or what? The Reds have 7 runs on 8 hits and didn't score until the 6th inning and you think they are clicking on all cylinders? Gomes started and 0-3. Rolen 0-3. All I see is a Votto 3 run homer and he and Bruce have been carrying this team for a while. How are they clicking on all cylinders? Help me out here.

Votto Hr...Gomes had a couple really good at bats vs Kershaw when everybody else was striking out on 3 or 4 pitches...Stubbs had a big walk and an RBI double...Phillips had an RBI single driving in Hernandez...Votto hit a 3 run bomb after Stubbs walked and Phillips singled...Votto also singled...Hernandez had a big hit only the second hit of the game while Kershaw was then cruising leading to a big inning...Bruce has singled...Janish had a nice poke where Bruce could've scored he got thrown out on a bang bang play at the plate...Heisey had a 2 RBI pinch.hit...Cueto put down a key sacrafice...Its been much more than just Votto...The TEAM is 4 for 5 with RISP all with 2 outs, Votto only has one of those...
June 4, 201115 yr Wow Hernandez almost with a bunt hit just foul...Next pitch base hit...Let's go Janish keep getting hot...
June 4, 201115 yr I have tired really hard to like Dusty, but his idiotic managing just keeps me from doing that. Today is another perfect example, or maybe I'm just too stupid to understand. Maybe somebody can explain it to me. Pay no mind to the results of his decision today, but just the decision by itself. On Tuesday night Dusty let's his AAA pitcher bat, while trailing 4-1, and the Reds with the bases loaded, and no outs in the bottom of the 4th inning. Dusty's answer to that was that the bullpen was just too overworked, and he didn't have the pitchers available to finish the game. Fast forward to today's game. The Reds are winning 4-2 in the bottom of the 7th. The Reds have their ace on the mound, and he has thrown only 88 pitches, and Dusty decides he needs to pinch hit for him. Dusty had just used Ondrusek, Masset, and Cordero for 1 inning a piece the night before, and the Reds have Travis Wood going tomorrow, and he knows more than likely he'll probably have to go to the bullpen again tomorrow by the 7th inning. Dusty simply has no clue when it comes to managing a pitching staff. There is no rhyme or reason to his decision, and it absolutely drives me crazy.
