May 27, 201115 yr It depends on what case they are working on. Sometimes they are good, other times not so much.
May 27, 201115 yr Author I feel they are for sure against religion, especially Christianity. It seems the ACLU goes looking to find and abolish religion. Even if 1 person doesnt like what has always been, the ACLU goes to court and trys to bully the Church. Tooooooo much political corectness in America, what happend to staying out of peoples business if it didnt bother you. I mean what does it hurt to have the 10 Commandments hanging up, it isnt like you have to believe it if you dont want to. Having prayer for a graduation, then just dont pray. Can someone name something they have ever done good.

May 27, 201115 yr Author For example, why did this matter. Are people really that bad, what happens if they drive down the road adn see a church, wil they demand it be torn down or hidden. School officials in Neptune Township, N.J., have bowed to the demands of the ACLU and will cover decades-old religious signs posted in the historic Great Auditorium to allow a 70-year tradition of high school graduations to continue. The conflict began after the grandmother of one of last year's graduates complained not only about the large white cross adorning the top of the buildings' facade, but of the religious signs inside, and what she felt was a heavily religious tone to the ceremony, http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/05/26/new-jersey-high-school-aclu-compromise-grnew-jersey-school-aclu-compromise/?test=latestnews

May 27, 201115 yr A pain in the tush but a neccessary pain in the tush. I was going to post something similar. They represent the. minority. That in and of itself usually upsets the majority.
May 27, 201115 yr I Tooooooo much political corectness in America, what happend to staying out of peoples business if it didnt bother you. . This statement is exactly why they are necessary. You call it PC . Others call it constitutional.

May 27, 201115 yr Author I'm going to take a wild guess here. You're white, Christian, male and straight. (PS - so am I.) Yes, but still by trying to defend one who is a non-believer in whatever, they disrimanate agaisnt the rest of the majority. If there are 100 people going to graduation and 1 of them disagrees with a cross being hung, then is it right to have the other 99 who like or agree with it to have to do without? Isnt that discrimination.
May 27, 201115 yr Like many institutions and businesses the ACLU has outlived its usefullness. They have become an anti-common sense organization with no understanding of the original intent of the Constitution, as set forth by our Founding Fathers. Otherwise known as political correctness. Mt Ref, they have accomplished good things in the past, but today the ACLU stands for all that is wrong in this country, defending many forms of pervasion, anti-American and anti- Constitutional stands. The so-called defense of pornography and the use of 4 letter words as free speech has led to a debasement of society. I know that many will jump on this, especially the younger ones, as they have grown up thinking it is OK. But look at many great books and movies that did not need foul language or porn to make them great and many movies and books today would be great, even without naked, foul mouthed characters. The hate of the ACLU of Christianity is also destroying this country. Just now on Fox News they said a judge in Texas will not allow a minister to use "Jesus Christ" in his sermon at a military cemetery on Memorial Day. What have we come to, when this happens, as many of those who died defending this country believed in Jesus and fought for that freedom. And do not give me that "seperation of church and state". That is not in the Constitution, it says "freedom of religion", not freedom from religion. That seperation stuff is a made up thing, created in the last 50 years by Christian haters. Afterall one of the ways the communists hope to win out, is to eliminate God in society and replace it with government. The list of political correctness and anti-Americaness is too long to list .
