The reason it has changed is that liberals have adopted, some maybe without realizing it, the communist belief that you need to get rid of religion and replace it with government as ones savior, in order to bring about government control and eliminate freedom. It is all about power and control. It is sad to think that some have adopted this political correctness, thinking they are progressive or just hip with the times, when they are giving up freedoms without realizing it.

Absolutely, the smartest people should be in leadership positions. I fail to see how enforcing the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, is someone calling all of the shots. Additionally, I definitely have quite a bit of Homer Simpson in me. I have a few pounds I can afford to lose, I probably drink too much beer, and I love sitting on the couch watching tv.

Passing laws like the take over of medicine, with the intent of destroying private medicine, then taking over all medical care. Forcing you to excersire and give up your beer. Before you protest, think of what some cities or states have already done, limiting salt, eliminating saturated fats and saying you cannot have your hamburgers rare.

Let the abilities and talents of the average American to make these decisions, not some bureaucrats. If the consumer wants something the companies will change to fit the whims of the public, because they want to make money. If the old companies do not change, new ones will appear and replace the old ones. Is it not perfect , but it is the best system the world has to offer.

He has a point though. The left more so than anybody acts like things like universal health care is a humanitarian effort by the government when in reality it does take away our options as people. This ideology goes in hand with quite a few issues.

The overarching point — that the majority should be allowed to force its particular flavor of religion down everybody's throat, just because they're the majority — still applies.

Too many people have failed to understand the original intent of the Constitution. Please point out in the Constitution where it says there is to be no religion in the public domain. There is only "seperation of state and church" in the minds of liberals, because of their need to eliminate God and replace it with government. Even if you do not buy that arguement, why does the left believe there is such a need for government to control our lives.

Are those on left so intolerant they cannot allow for the majority to place God in a prayer? It did not cause for the Republic to be so divided in our 1st 200 years, as we are today with God being kicked around like a rag doll.

I believe that the vast majority of Americans are quite capable of taking care of theirselves, but what the left wants is to have people to think they need to relie on government. Hence they want to people to believe they are not smart enough to take care of theirselves. The left has this complex of being better than everyone else, believing they have to force their ' religion' of government on everyone else.

While not every American can be an engineer or doctor, they can do the things that are needed to make a living. Reagan has the best view of Americans, get out of their way and they will take care of theirselvesw. But the left today wants to destroy self-reliance in this country.

No one is forcing anything on them. When my church sings I usually do not sing because I either do not know the words or can not sing good. I guess I am going to hell now since I didn't sing. No you do, it never said in the article anyone was forced to pray or sing, you said it trying to manipulate the conversation into making it look like you are right. You sir are the one who continues to prove what is wrong in this country.
